So I read this write-up of "Push It" earlier today: tigerrequestlive.wordpress.com/2012/03/18/garbage-push-it/and I was reminded how great this video was. Even though this was 14 years ago, it still feels years ahead of its time. (Disturbing Content Warning) How did you feel when you first watch it? How do you feel about it now?

I personally prefer this song with this video:
Sorry, I'm a hockey nerd. This is the video I associate the song with.
Also, this thread reminds me that I wish someone would start a podcast where they talk and riff on bad music videos like they do with bad movies.

I have the album it's from, but that's the first time i've seen the video. I liked it, lots of surreal and bizarre imagery and nice video/movie references. The animated guy was reminiscent of A-ha's Take On Me video, the kids reminiscent of Village of the Damned (parodied in The Simpsons as The Bloodening). Version 2.0 is an awesome album, Shirley Manson was hot as hell too.
Is it just me or does music/videos from the 90's annihilate anything from the last decade or today? Sure they can do more effects-wise now, but often that makes for empty, soulless tripe.

I always argue that most music videos past say 1998 haven't really been that impressive in comparison to videos from before '98. That's not to say anything past my cut-off date sucks, but about 85% of it hasn't been all that great.

Never seen the video before but I've always loved the song. Awesome video!
And yea, 90s music blows away music from the past 10 years by a light year! Every band on the radio nowadays is soulless, empty, devoid of lyrical meaning, and sounds like a heartbroken 12 year old wrote their lyrics. Post-grunge is maybe the worst thing to ever hit music.
But I love Garbage, and Butch Vig is a genius.

I can't see mention of a song called "Push It" without thinking about Kamala now.

I can't see mention of a song called "Push It" without thinking about Kamala now. Same here. It's a very catchy song, it's on my iTunes now. You pay your lovers. The one's that go meat to meat. There need to be more blues songs based on wrestling urban legends. Maybe Kamala could sing about The Rock n' Roll Express, Jimmy Valient, a rat and a glass table.
