Just like an 11 year old, they have fleeting attention spans, she wrote a quick short story.

Mall Girl

Rosie Finney was just an ordinary girl. Until that day she lost everything.
Rosie was in her room watching TV. She smelled smoke all around her. Rosie knew what was going on, her house was on fire! She already had two suitcases with clothes and things for this type of emergency. She grabbed them and ran out the door, watching her house burn to the ground. When the firemen and police came, Rosie thought about her family. She asked the fireman.
“Is my family alright?”
“No, they’re all gone.”
Rosie was devastated when she heard those four words. She lost her whole family, and now she was all alone.

“Where will I go now?” she asked the police man.
“The mayor will find out what to with you,” the police man responded. “For now you might what to go to a friend’s house.”
“Ok,” she said.
Weeks past after the big fire. Rosie was at her friend Rita’s house. The day finally came. She got a call from the mayor that said only nine words that amazed her life. “Rosie, you will have to go to an orphanage.” After Rosie heard those words, she fainted.
“Hello, hello” said the mayor. There was nothing else that the mayor heard from Rosie.

“What did you just say?” Rosie asked.
“You are going to an orphanage,” the mayor responded.
“Why?” Rosie said.
“Because, all your relatives are gone so you can’t stay with anyone, you will have until tomorrow when the car will pick you up. Goodbye.” The mayor said.
Rosie was still in shock about the news. Rosie was so sad; she decided to take a walk around town. When she was walking, there was an old mall she loved to hang out at. “I wonder,” Rosie thought. Rosie had a great idea. She thinks it will be foolproof. The idea? She will wait until everyone is asleep, gather all of her stuff and move to the old mall.

“This plan will definitely work,” Rosie said to herself.
So Rosie waited until 2:00 in the morning to leave. When everybody was asleep, she left a note and then departed. Rosie was walking all alone through the streets going to the mall. When it felt like an hour, which was only 20 minutes, she reached the mall for her new life and not living in an orphanage with screaming kids.
The next morning, Rita was looking everywhere for Rosie, but she was nowhere to be found. Until Rita’s mom found the note and the car picking up Rosie was in the driveway.

Part 2

“So, where’s Rosie,” the mayor said?
“I don’t know, she just disappeared sometime last night,” Rita’s mother answered.
“I hope she is ok,” Rita said.
“We need to look all around the state, the country, and maybe all over the world to find Rosie,” the mayor demanded. “Let’s get looking, right now.”

“Rosie, Rosie,’’ Rita yelled to the town.
It has been a week since Rosie ran away to the mall and nobody has found her. Everyone is really worried about Rosie. The president of the United States is having a meeting with the governor and the mayor to discuss Rosie’s disappearance.
“Maybe she went to another country to find one of her relatives,” the governor said. “Or she left to Antarctica to freeze to death.”
“No, because she doesn’t have enough money to get to Antarctica and all of her relatives are dead,” the mayor responded.
“Doesn’t her friend Rita know where Rosie is?” the president questioned.
“We asked her and she has no idea because they were only friends for one month,” the mayor said.
“I got it, we could ask presidents and see if they have seen Rosie anywhere around that country,” the president suggested.
“That is a great idea,” the governor and mayor said.
“Okay,” the president said, “meeting adjourned.”
“Agreed,” they all yelled.

The plan was brilliant, but almost all the presidents of the world don’t like the US president. When the presidents heard about the missing girl, they all pitched in to help this one time. Some people in America gave up on looking for Rosie, but others will work day and night to find Rosie.
It has now been one month since the disappearance and now almost all hope of Rosie is lost. The mayor has some good information on Rosie and that information might help to figure out her location. The governor thinks that information on Rosie is useless, but the mayor knows that the data is important. The data states all of Rosie’s homes, travel info, and other things the mayor doesn’t care about. The governor was right, the data was really useless. There is only one question that is on everyone’s mind….. Where is Rosie???

“My life is perfect,” Rosie yelled to herself. She runs all around the mall. Rosie loves to stop at the skate park, the bouncy area, and her favorite area the food court. Rosie loves the food court because she has an almost endless supply of food that will last at least five years. The best part of the food court is that she can make any type of food she wants to make. The mall is at least ten times bigger then her old home.


Rosie walks all around the mall with thoughts that might not come true. As Rosie goes to the skate room, her jumps and flips helps her forget about every problem and she is feeling more relaxed and peaceful life in the mall.
“I’m sure people don’t care about me and have forgotten me already,” Rosie said to herself. Rosie has been having a great time at the mall ever since she has forgotten about everyone. She has started to live free with no rules and no laws. It’s like she runs a new country. A one person populated country. “Wow, I still can’t believe I’m all alone in this whole mall,” Rosie thought to herself. “But I still wish my friends were here.” “I got it, I will makeover this entire mall to what I want it to be like, and it will be perfect.”


“I wonder how I’m going to start,” Rosie said out loud. She had a lot of clothes, but no paint supplies, craft things, or any instructions on how to do anything. Rosie has an idea, but it was a dumb idea.
“Maybe I can disguise myself and sneak out the mall to the craft store for some supplies. I do have $200,” Rosie said. So Rosie gave that idea a try. It was one or nothing. Rosie mixed and matched all her clothes she had. She even ran around the store to find a few things she needed.
“Just to be on the safe side,” Rosie said, “I think I should make a fake ID in case someone asks me something.” So Rosie made a fake ID that said her name was Lisa Tree.

Honestly, this little girl is amazing.

Chapter 8: Waking Up
Brock woke up. He was cold. He looked around and saw he was in a dark room with white walls surrounding him. He was only in his underwear for some reason.
"Oh, you're awake!" said a familar, cheerful, friendly, amazing, romantic, beautiful voice. Brock looked over to the right. IT WAS NURSE JOY!
"Nurse Joy! I'm so happy to see you! I uh, why am I here? Am I in a Pokemon Center?" Brock asked rapidly.
"Oh Brock, it's good to see you! I'm glad to see you missed me its been a while. Anyways, Chansey found you passed out somewhere and she dragged you to the Pokemon Center." she said. Brock looked down at his stomach. There were a lot of stracthes and bruises. What had happened to him? Oh well, he was with the love of his life. He was in Pokeheaven.
"Oh yes, I saw your friends Ash and Misty. You aren't seeing her Brock are you?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Misty!?!?!??! NO! She's like 12! You know I only bother with grown women like yourself!" Brock shouted. Nurse Joy blushed.
"Oh okay... I just thought... Never mind, rest up an get better" said Nurse Joy embarrassed. She walked out of the room.

Brock went to sleep. He woke up later, he didn't know when. The room was dark, and he had a nice warm blanket on him. He looked around. He saw Nurse Joy sleeping in a chair. She was so cute when she slept. He smiled. He hoped everything could keep going well. He had secret powers. He had great friends who he needs to help. And best of all he had a wonderful girl. Life is good
