Inspired from the "Bring back 3 Sega franchises" thread. What 3 Nintendo franchises would you like to see make a return?
Edit: Apparently I messed up with the voting. I guess vote for the one you'd like the most and post the other 2...

I'm going with "2D Metroid" and I'll settle for "3D Metroid not like Other M."
As for actual entire series that I think need returns: Startropics, Fire Emblem (as in, a completely new FE game not a remake), and Wario Land.

I'm still stunned why we have not seen an F-ZERO game on the Wii.

StarTropics, StarTropics, and StarTropics.
StarFox can rot as long as they keep playing the "Hideous art style because we're afraid of the fanbase we might attract." card. I'd rather they just make a new, identically playing game with Human James (from F-Zero) as the main character if that's the case.

Not Nintendo. Xanadu itself belongs to Nihon Falcom, and FaXanadu belonged to Hudson Soft.

Mother.
Or at least, get the two parts we didn't get in the US over here, and re-release Earthbound.

1. Star Tropics by Retro Studios would be the closest thing to the incredible Zelda game we all know they could make.
2. A worthy successor to Yoshi's Island is long overdue. Perhaps a 3D one by EAD Tokyo?
3. 2D Metroid, no explanation needed.

I'm still stunned why we have not seen an F-ZERO game on the Wii. It's because neither GX nor the GBA games that followed it sold as well as expected, so Nintendo put the series on hold for awhile until they can figure out a way to reinvent it. The series isn't exactly a high priority for them anyway, so I imagine we'll be waiting awhile yet.

3DS is getting a completely new one this year. It IS a new one? Last I heard it was a remake of FE4. While FE4 is a great (if not super hard) game, I'll be very pleased if it is indeed an entirely new game.

You ask for 3 answers yet have the poll only accept 1?
Anyways, F-Zero, Mother, and StarTropics. I would've said Eternal Darkness but I'm sure 1 game doesn't make it a franchise.

I don't mind the remakes since many of them were not released in north america. though i'd love a remake of both 6 and 7 in one package

Mother, although that's not really down to Nintendo Mole Mania - An updated eshop version that made use of the two screens would be great Kuru Kuru Kururin - Mostly by default, I would say Warioland but I don't think the series is quite dead.

I believe the fact that, AFAIK, no returning characters have been revealed and the hero is already set could easily dissipate such doubts. It will also be the first Nintendo game with paid DLC, although they've announced that it will be free for the first month or something like that.

Perhaps a 3D one by EAD Tokyo? 3. 2D Metroid, no explanation needed. Yoshi's Island DS is a worthwhile successor. As good? no, but it definitely captures the spirit and has some similarly unique boss battles and the like. Though its final boss isn't nearly as memorable, and it's for some reason shorter than the original. Anyway, I'd say... Earthbound though mostly for a remake, Ice Climber, and Balloon Fight. Don't get why Wario Land and Yoshi are listed, since those two have gotten games fairly recently and most likely will again sometime fairly soon. As for Star Fox, my problem with it is that Nintendo seems reluctant to just make another game in the vein of 64 which is all anyone actually seems to want out of the series. With that in mind, I'd just as soon it die out as keep at it, since really 64 and Assault are the only good games in the series in my opinion having not played the original. Granted, a 3D Classics version of the original would be great. Then there's Metroid, which I've just never really been able to get into but intend to try again at, and F-Zero, which I just plain hate.
