I love making this thread. Well, hypothetically you get money to develop a game, any game you want to make, what would it be?
Recently I thought that an Indiana Jones type RPG would be cool. Okay, not exactly like Indiana Jones. An archeologist-type character, more or less, with job classes that you don't usually get in RPGs.

Bully crossed with Persona mixed with Animal Crossing. Then add an updated version of GTA2s gang system and a little bit of Warioware.

Two ideas.
A GTA-style game with Fallout/Elder Scrolls/Mass Effect style RPG elements. Basically picture something like Fallout 3 with the GTA/Red Dead engine.
The other idea I've always had is for an MMO wrestling title. You start out in the crappiest indies and as you level up, you slowly move up to higher promotions until you reach the WWE style global promotion. Combine a great wrestling engine with a spectator mode and I think it would be incredible. There's a lot of ideas that could come into play.

A Madden-style football game that allows you to create your own league and teams.
You can use any style of league you want.
Canadian Football Arena Football Indoor Football or hell, even the NFL style game. Or use a combo of the rules.
Set it up to have either 12, 14, 16, or 18 game seasons in franchise mode. Drafts after every season.

Star Fox Generations Features 3 campaigns: the James McCloud past, Fox MCloud present & the Marcus McCloud future. Each campaign has distinct gameplay differences: Past is linear like assault, Present branches like SF64 & Future is open world like SF2 (if you've ever played it).
Super Mario RTS Using the wiimote as a mouse & the Wii U controller as a virtual keyboard, this recreates the full PC RTS genre experience on a home console. The main factions are Bower's troops & the mini-marios from MvsDK. Hero characters like Mario have platformer type controls via the nunchuck, so the player can move them independently of the army.
Super Smash Bros. vs. Capcom Hell if this ain't what the next SSB actual is with how crossover crazy Capcom's getting I'll be surprised.
Life after Death A civ like game set in the zombie apocalypse. Your job is to take a ragtag group of survivors & somehow rebuild civilization over the course of generations while dealing with the zombie threat.
Bossfight Taking Shadow of the Colossus to the illogical extreme, this is a game where the entirety of it is spent fighting a single massive boss. The level would be an open sandbox city with the boss being a ID4 saucer size bio-mass. Over the course of the game you'll be fighting its spawned minions, rescuing civilians, investigating the boss' origin & gradually chipping away at the behemoth with whatever weapons & vehicles your can find.

Villainous Kingdom Hearts game A KH game where you play as Vanitas, the evil Sora lookalike from KHBBS. Maleficent & Pete are his main party members, counterpart to Donald & Goofy. The game creates the experience of being a villain, right down to fighting whatever heroes Disney's censors will allow. To break down the new game mechanics:
1. On the fly swapping between keyblade & souleater. The souleater FYI is the sword Maleficent gave Riku. Because its a dark-element weapon its more effective against living enemies like the Agrabah palace guards & Chinese soldiers. Vanitas' keyblade is a light-element weapon & thus is more effective against heartless (which Maleficent & Pete no longer control for later revealed plot reasons). When mixed mobs of people & heartless you'll have to constantly switch between the 2 weapons for best results.
2. Minion summoning. Vanitas & each of his party has his/her own personal army of henchmen to call upon to fight for them. Vanitas-Unverse Maleficent-her goons (as they were called in BBS, don't know what they were called in the movie) Pete-weasel knights (from Prince & the Pauper) Jafar-40 thieves Hades-centurian warriors Hook-pirates Shun Yu-huns Kuja-black mages Knaves of Hearts-card soldiers
3. Final boss form. If a party member takes enough damage, that character enters his "final form" & the player takes direct control of him/her. Vanitas-dual wielding both weapons Maleficent-dragon form Pete-gets in Steamboat Willie, shoots fireballs from the smokestacks Jafar-genie form Hades-invulnerable red mode Hook-uses stolen pixie dust to fly Shun Yu-horse back riding Kuja-Trance Knave of Hearts-drinks growth bottle to grow gigantic

Survivor: FAN Edition.
Same Survivor rules, only it's members of FAN stuck in the off topic for 30 days. Only one will survive. Genius.

WWE vs Capcom:
This game would be using the engine that Smackdown Here Comes The Pain used but apply it to Capcom characters
60 characters in all (30 from WWE's side & 30 from Capcom's side) Two season modes (One for WWE & One for Capcom) Warfare mode (a story mode that pits WWE & Capcom against each other) Survival Mode Training mode WWE/Capcom Mall (where you use money earned from either the two seasons or Warfare mode to unlock WWE & Capcom characters & stages)

There was a thread on a Disney themed fighting game here before, but I'd specifically like to see one with a fairly large, interactive free roaming enviornment, rather than a smaller SSB-type stage.
Playable first time around: Mickey, Donald, Goofy (joke character), Jack Sparrow, Robin Hood, Tron, Hercules, Tarzan, Mulan, Darkwing Duck, Kim Possible, Simba, Mr. Incredible, Aladdin, The Beast
Unlockable: Stitch, Goliath, Princess Kida, Dr. Facilier, Buzz Lightyear (not the toy), Agent P, Shego, Cpt. Hook, Pete, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Bosses: Phantom Blot, Malificent, Chernabog
DLC: Lightning McQueen, Captain America
