I've noticed that in most recent TLC/Ladder matches that involve a manager, that manager will interfere in the match, and sometimes goes after the belt themselves. Now, I understand why they would trip up the opposing guy, but what sense does it make for the manager to try to grab the title? I can't imagine it would count towards their respective fighter winning the match.
I can remember several times this has happened in the last two years alone: Vicki, Ricardo, and Maryse have all tried to climb the ladder to get the hanging belt. I also think that either Lita or Spike tried to do the same thing back when the Hardys/E&C/Dudleys series was going on.
Anyone else equally confused with these spots? Better yet, can anyone argue that it makes any sense?

I'd imagine it's because they would give it to their guy, and he would win by virtue of being the first participant to touch the title.

We should consult TNA regarding what the rules are on this with people picking up the prize without taking it off the hook themselves., since they've had the X fall down in ultimate X matches like 50 times.

They always play it off like even the manager doesn't really know what they're doing. Are they getting it for their client? Do they want it themselves? It's just too good an opportunity to miss: the ladder is set up, their client is down but so is everyone else.
Maryse played it perfectly.

Be honest: how hard would you mark if Ricardo got the MITB briefcase?

I'd imagine it's because they would give it to their guy, and he would win by virtue of being the first participant to touch the title. This. Theres even a precedent showing that the winner doesn't have to necessarily pull the belt down. Dolph won at last years TLC by picking up the belt after it was knocked down iirc.

Be honest: how hard would you mark if Ricardo got the MITB briefcase? I would especially mark if he got to keep it. Then he would introduce ADR while hoisting the suitcase casually on his shoulders. Also he wouldn't cash it in ever.

Well, according to WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2007, I believe it was, the manager would keep the belt. Right, Trish Stratus?

Maryse going after the MITB case was awesome.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Ricardo has done this FOUR times already.
TLC last year, Extreme Rules, Money in the Bank, TLC this year.
ADR has already been in that many ladder/TLC matches.

FYI, Hornswoggle at Wrestlemania 23. Arguably the greatest thing Mr Kennedy ever did.

Just rewatched all four. TLC 2010 = Yes Extreme Rules = No MITB = Ricardo wasn't there. He was still selling the effects of Big Show's beatdown. TLC 2011 = Yes So it seems to be a time-honoured tradition in TLC for Ricardo to try to win for ADR. XD
