Him giving up a shot he'll likely get again in the future so a young guy can stop being screwed over by management. He said it himself, he's a 10 time World Champion, but didn't get those until someone gave him a fair shake, something Ryder hasn't got until he started promoting himself online. But he did get a fair shake. He was on the shows and lost all of his matches. He got a WWE title shot and lost in 5 seconds. He got the chances and blew them. Oh wait, that was kayfabe. This is "real". Last I checked, multiple instances of beating the champion in various matches gives you the priority of being #1 contender. Hell, John Morrison got one after beating Zigs and he had one foot out the door at that point. He shouldn't have to keep "earning" an opportunity after having a couple Ws over Ziggler in addition to thousands of people signing his petition.

I know we're not used to it with guys like Del Rio debuting... but you actually do move up the card in WWE. Some people do it faster than others, but not everyone debuts locked into one place. Sheamus started off losing to Goldust. In a year, he was in the ME. Most people go much slower than that.
Ryder is depicted as the young up-and-comer who is trying his hardest to make it, and Laurinitis is essentially feeding him to the guys at the top of the company isn't giving him a fair shake, it's him doing his best to keep him down. He's won against the champion he's trying to face, Laurinitis just tried to ensure to he wouldn't get any more by putting him up against guys who, kayfabe speaking, he's not on the level of yet.

One good deed don't make Eddie McDowd a boy, do it?
John Cena - Still a dick.

This was a puzzling angle on Raw. Cena had no problem with simply beating Ryder 1-2-3 in the ring, but immediately took himself out of the title match? If he cared that much why not just take a count out and protest the match entirely (like Batista did in that weird match with Punk)?

Kinda against his character in every way.

He purposely took himself out the match. Not a big difference.

Yeah, but that totally skips over him beating Ryder and going through that little bit of dissension after the match. That more than likely would have caused him to think differently.

Cena winning and giving it up told a better story than if he had just laid down. It doesn't go against his character, which is that he's supposed to be a guy who busts his ass to give the fans a good match, and it also let him give it up.
And if he just laid down, it wouldn't have given Ryder a chance to actually have a competitive match against him.

This could be a part of Cena's heel turn if it happens. He gave up his opportunity at a title shot to give Zack Ryder one, and he still gets booed? That could get him close to snapping.

He doesn't have a match for the PPV and alot of guys are already booked. What do YOU think is going to happen? Punk pisses off Ace, so he stacks the deck more

As for what Cena's going to do, I have no clue. There's not really anyone big for him to go against, but you know he's going to do something.

I've never seen anything like that before. Quite a sacrifice for someone he owes nothing to.
"Internet Hero" John Cena? I like it.

Why would Cena get rewarded after the Ryder situation with Ace? I think Cena gets booked in a match with a mystery opponent.....Brodus Clay. Or even Mark Henry.

Me likes very much where they're going with Cena. I just hope I like where they end up too.

Plus, I don't think Cena being added to the match would hurt Punk that much. Right now he's up against 2 cheating heels. Cena's a tough obstacle, but he fights fair and he might actually help Punk out to start. Seems like Cena's real big on Punk having the title, with his "dream match" being a rematch between the 2. I think it'd be really interesting to have Cena sit out the PPV. Maybe have him just be in Ryder's corner or something?
