Reminds me of when in SvR 2008, Ric Flair had the Attitude Era WWE title while Austin had the WCW title. WCW/nWo Revenge also had the Faces of Fear as Tag champions, even though they never actually won them. Was Roddy Piper ever world champion? Was Kanyon ever TV champion?

No and no.
The only champion in Revenge who actually held that title at the time of release was Kidman as Cruiserweight Champion.

No and no. The only champion in Revenge who actually held that title at the time of release was Kidman as Cruiserweight Champion. Curt Hennig did hold the US title before, as well.

I remember playing WCW/nWo Revenge and being baffled as to why Roddy Piper was the World Heavyweight Champion, despite never winning it in WCW. Or anywhere else. Were his IC run in 92 and Tag run in 06 the only times he's ever had a title? He was also a United States champion in the NWA in the 70s and later in WCW in 1999.

I loved WCW/nWo Revenge and Wrestlemania 2000(Wrestlemania due to...You guessed it being the only WWE game with Blue Meanie in it)

I still play No Mercy at least once a week. I was just playing Wrestlemania 2000 a few seconds ago, and it's amazing how much harder it is than No Mercy, or even WCW/nWo Revenge. Holy shit, the career mode in WM200 is hard as hell. The most recent one of mine was approximately two years ago as Meanie, merely because I wanted to see him get a decent and unrealistic push. Well, somehow I won every single belt, and keeping them was probably the MOST frustrating video game experience of my life. It was a blessing and a curse.

I'll tell you what...you could make a dead-on CM Punk on No Mercy. I've also edited Jericho to SRS, made Kane modern, Rock bald, and gave Shawn Michaels Test's pants (feel weird saying that) and the green wristbands...

One of my favorite things to do is just watch the old titantrons for ages, because sometimes the MIDI uality is really good.

I prefer to refer to those games as AKI Wrestling games rather than N64 Wrestling games, b/c the latter kind of implies that I was a fan of any other N64 wrestling titles. Seriously, I think AKI were the only ones that made a decent game for the 64. Granted, Warzone and Attitude were amazing to me when I was a kid because they were the first 3D WWF games and they had so many advances over the previous games.
But even as a huge WWF fan who barely liked WCW I just had a lot more fun with the WCW games. As a matter of face, WCW vs. NWO: World Tour is the game that got me interested in WCW in the first place. Then THQ got the WWF license and all was right in the world...until they stopped working with AKI for some reason unbeknownst to me.

I remember having fun with War Zone as a kid but the game certainly has not held up at all.

I guess seeing it as AKI wrestling games does make more sense, considering they made the most well known.

WWF No Mercy - Survivor Mode - sweaty hands - hot 64 - getting angry when eliminated. Good times.

World Tour Revenge 2000 No Mercy Mayhem
Still own those to this day. I wish I brought my 64 with me to campus.

Bringing this topic back to discuss how I simulate Royal Rumbles in Wrestlemania 2000 (Because the max for a Rumble is 30 in that game), and open a table in a word document with two columns: one for the entry order, and one for the elimination order. Fun stuff, truly.

Fun stuff, truly. In No Mercy, there was a counter that told how many were left to be eliminated.

This is a great YouTube series on the AKI games (watch all the episodes from the related videos):

Love them, and still play No Mercy and WM2000. The stalling piledriver onto/through whatever comes to mind in No Mercy never stops being fun. I even like WCW Mayhem too, though Backstage Assault is of course the drizzling s***s.
I also have a near-perfect Raven on No Mercy and a guy named Nasty Canasta, after a Bugs Bunny cartoon. I also had to create AKI Man, because the WWF couldn't be denied the awesomeness of the AKI games' greatest superhero.

I made a dead on Terry Funk in Wrestlemania 2000. Probably one of my best Created Characters, next to Sean Connery in Soul Calibur IV.
