I'm baffled if anyone is saying Punk was buried. The worst he did was lose a match to him, and he was almost immediately put back in the title picture. He's also the current world champion.

I think the results of the poll says it all.

I wouldn't say Jericho was buried as I'd say he was ignored.
Because let's face it, the match with HHH at Wrestlemania X8 wasn't Triple H Vs Chris Jericho, it was Triple H Vs. Stephanie McMahon and some other guy.

I voted Jericho. But had to post because I keep thinking about how much it seemed HHH was gonna totally bury Punk a few months ago. It's a testament to how awesome Punk is that he's still one of the top babyfaces after having his momentum SO slowed down the second HHH showed up.

Went with Jericho, just because I think he could have been Cena-levels of huge had HHH been willing to put his ego aside.

You know, beating the living crap out of a guy for the entire match, hitting their own move on them, and making it so they had to be carried out on a stretcher after hitting a fluke submission hold is not exactly putting someone over. Also, the idea that Taker is an exception to Triple H is kind of a ludicrous example. It's Taker. Hunter losing to him means nothing to the man's already incredible legacy outside of him being another number in the streak. Can we really cite him as some shining example of how generous Hunter can be with another wrestler? It's kind of absurd to even imply that Hunter should/would have to be generous to Taker. I doubt anyone involved in that match saw it as that, either. Well, I agree that it wasn't putting Taker over; I'm just saying that it wasn't a burial of him, so saying that he's buried everybody he's ever faced is a bit much. HHH's is an egotistical asshat, but he could be worse, that's what I'm saying. (Language warning) This piece by Harry Simon seems relevant to the thread, btw.

Can I vote for the entire roster, since he did say he could have a better match with a broomstick than any of them?
WWE buried Booker T from the very beginning, before he feuded with HHH.

IIRC they helped him out when he was getting beat down. They cleared the ring, stood there in unity for a second before Triple H inexplicably pedigrees them both for no discernible reason. I'm pretty sure Carlito was there as well. I seem to recall that particular segment he managed to slaughter more than half the tag division. There's my pick, the entire tag division never recovered.

I understand where you were coming from better but I still don't think it's a good example because I don't think Triple H could "bury" Taker (*rim shot*). Taker is light years beyond anyone doing that.
