It must be Triple H and the Undertaker. Why? Just because. Everybody wants to be like Rock.

Can't really blame the guy. Punk takes wrestling VERY seriously, and he's likely annoyed by the fact that The Rock spent several years trying to distance himself from it as much as possible, only to come back and snag the main-event of the biggest show of the year. I really doubt CM Punk would be mad if this were Steve Austin, because Austin never tried to escape from being known as a wrestler. I think that's his beef with Rock. Of Course if The Rock came back he was going to get the main event match. He's one of the top 3 all time biggest wrestling stars of all time. Was he supposed to feud with Heath Slater? It's a myth he tried to escape wrestling. He didn't randomly talk about it when promoting movies and started using his real name after a while because it would have been daft to carry on being called The Rock as an actor. It was hardly an insult. It's not even like wrestling is on a huge boom period and The Rock is trying to jump on the bandwagon. Buyrates, ratings, house show attendances are way down. The business is struggling big time. Punk's an idiot. He tried claiming the huge WM buyrate wasn't necessarily down to The Rocks return but rather the Cena/Miz main event and his match with Orton. I'm a huge Punk fan, but if he actually said that...

I might have some reservations with the way Rock's character is being written, but judging by this thread WWE is obviously using him to generate some good heat.

In an interview, he said that The Rock bothers him because he said he was back for good, but is only going to wrestle a couple of matches even though Cena said the same thing and Rock publicly addressed that issue in a promo. Yet Punk still goes on about it. Seems like a case of jealousy mixed with his loyalty to Cena. And Punk is delusional if he thinks The Rock isn't a massive benefit to the WWE.

This may or may not be directly related to the subject, but...
Does anyone know what the general sentiment, from both fans and the wrestlers in the back, was to Hulk Hogan coming back to the WWF/E in 2002? People give Rock flack for distancing himself from wrestling, but Hogan was working directly for the competition. If anything, I'd think that was a lot worse.

IIRC from the Jericho book alot of people weren't crazy about that. Especially the guys that had worked with them before.

Who cares. I mean really, this locker room is no different then the old locker room that was mad because the WCW guys might go over. I could care less what Punk has to say about Rock, because Rock made his bones, and worked his ass off during a time when their was competition. If the guy was able to get out of a business that leaves most people crippled or broke and be successful, why should he be ridiculed, because he doesn't live up to the standards of this guy.
Out of all the guys in this business, very few guys get it. CM Punk isn't one of them. That's not a knock, it means, he's like most of the guys, guys who get caught up in the insular world of pro wrestling. The guys, who do understand the bigger picture are guys like Kane, guys like Big Show, guys like Rock, guys like Jericho.
