We saw it happened at the Royal Rumble in 2011 and then later again this year at the Elimination Chamber. Will we see another moment where Santino finds himself the only man standing with just a ladder to climb in order to grab the briefcase (only to fall short of course).

There'll probably be a teaser spot, but not anything more.
At least I hope not, I'm really tired of Santino. That's just a personal thing, I know the dude's mega over and such.

It's pretty much inevitable that he's in MitB so that they can do a spot where everyone else is down and he climbs the ladder and almost has it. And the crowd will almost certainly go apeshit, just as they do every time WWE teases a big win for Santino.
And honestly, of the announced participants so far, I think he may really be the best choice to win it this year.

He'll definitely have that moment where he's alone in the ring, and I'm fairly certain he'll be caught by a heel and unceremoniously dumped to the ground. My only fear is he finds himself alone again a second time and wins the damn thing which is a possibility IMO.

100% chance it happens and given how protected he is for... some odd reason I'd say there's a chance they actually do the stupid thing and give him the briefcase.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't tease a near win.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he even won the match.
World titles have just been midcard filler for a while now, so it doesn't really matter.

I could see them teasing it just to see the crowd's reaction and consider pushing him up to a main event match if he's not booked to win it anyway. If they keep flirting with Santino getting a title shot, then it means they're likely considering it, and this would be a good time to guage fan reaction.

Santino wins and cashes in on himself, creating a paradox that destroys the space time continuum. However, the only thing visibly different is that the US Title ceases to exist.

They should do the spot where the refs are out for some reason, Santino pulls off the briefcase only for a heel to KO him and steal the briefcase.

I actually think he should win it.
Like Santino or not, the guy is very over with the crowd. Might as well have him win MitB and capitalise on his popularity. He doesn't need to win the World Heavyweight Title, hell have him lose the briefcase a couple of months down the line like Kennedy did (Would get great heel heat for whoever screws Santino out of the briefcase)
