I'm kinda disappointed that A-Ry lost the qualifying match, as I felt he needed to be in MiTB a lot more than Ziggler, who imo doesn't really need MiTB as he will always be booked as a World Title contender no matter what. But it didn't really bother me too much.
I don't care about the whole "jobber entrance" thing, because nowadays it seems like even main eventers get them too. The thing that really upset me is that he was introduced with no music. That's pretty much the ultimate sign of jobberdom, and he deserves to be treated much better than that.

Maybe Riley didn't want anyone to say it to his face this time.

I disagree. He's perfectly fine in the role he has. He may have improved a lot over the past year, but he's still got a ton more improving to go.

And he still got a huge pop. I think this is more telling. I had thought it was the music, but apparently people like him.

Ziggler losing to A-Ry hurts Ziggler more than A-Ry losing.
There's other guys Riley can beat to get a push. If Ziggler lost, after taking a few pins from Sheamus, he'd be toast.

I am still amazed that at a time Vince is constantly complaining about not making new stars and how no one connects with the fans he has someone that has done that and done it completely under his system but he won't use him.
As far as losing to ARy hurting Ziggler, it wouldn't. Losing to someone that people love and should be on the way up doesn't hurt anyone. It's losing to people that aren't popular and do nothing that hurts.

Curt Hawkins also got a jobber entrance and got squashed by Ryback, yet they played his music. Riley put on a more competitive match against Ziggler, and they didn't play his music at all. They treated him like nothing more than a local jobber on Jakked or something.

I missed the show, so I have to ask, are we entirely ruling out that it might have been a production error?

And he still got a huge pop. I think this is more telling. I had thought it was the music, but apparently people like him. Its not hard, the guy just has natural likability. Same with Sid in the 90's. The guy wasn't the greatest worker, but when he came out he was this kickass guy who was just awesome to be around.

And people (including myself) thought the pops would end when he stopped facing The Miz.

At least they didn't treat him like a total jobber, he got in some big moves like a spinebuster and a near fall at the start... Hawkins however...
