Personally, unless a guy is turning heel or face, I don't like any wrestlers beating up their valets/managers. It would have been odd to see Rick Rude killing Bobby Heenan on a regular basis, or Earthquake squashing Jimmy Hart. The manager should be an aid to the wrestler, not a victim. I agree. The manager should be a mental counterpart to the wrestler's physical.

I just don't get why people want him to get fired and go back to Japan. The reason he is back with WWE is that he could be stateside due to the birth of his son. He had to call in some favors just get another shot.

I preferred him being the sort of helper manager person that helped Tensai cheat with his brutal kicks and foreign weapons and stuff. Yeah, Ricardo gets more physically involved in helping Del Rio than Sakamoto does with Tensai I was hoping that Sakamoto's character would evolve into some kind of a "TALK ABOUT HIM MORE!" type of fanboy who sings Tensai's praises, yet he'd be a lot more serious and credible than Ricardo currently is.

I agree that hes almost pointless but the manager is something that is quietly making a little comeback and I am pretty happy about that

It just looks weird. It looks like some sort of sado-masochistic relationship. They should show a wet spot at the front of Sakamoto's pants every time Tensai beats him up. "King, would you look at that? He wet his pants!" "No way, Cole, that's too small to be a urine stain." ... that's not PG.

Crowds seem to be derisive of this business with Albert.

I feel like Sakamoto should've wrestled a few times before this started happening. All he's done is stand ringside for Tensai's matches, and maybe throw a kick or two. Nobody's gonna really care if he fights back against Tensai - if they are expecting another Alex Riley situation, they won't get it.

My idea is to have another monster heel arrive from Japan and interrupt a Sakamoto beatdown, and together they make Tensai THEIR whipping boy for the forseeable future.

I'm hearing alot on here about how it's strange to treat a manager like that and how Sakamoto should be the mouthpeice and doing manager duties etc, but I think the point of Sakamoto and his gimmick are being missed. The commentators have described him as a Geshi (I'm sure I spelled that wrong), a worshipper/follower. He's not Bobby Heenan or Paul Bearer, pushing a monster heel to take over the WWE or take down a Face. He's not Vickie or AW, wheeling and dealing in the back, like an agent, working to get Tensai a title shot for fame and payout. He's a servant and not even like Ricardo, who's a toadie, or Virgil, a butler. Sakamoto's role seems VERY Japanese and unique. He's a guy who sees and respects the power of Tensai and in a very Japanese way, is keeping a class structure of Tensai being his superior and better than him.

It be funny if during one of his beatdowns, Yoshi Tatsu ran out and they double-teamed Tensai leading to a new Oriental Express.

In fact, I'd like to see something a bit refreshing. A heel who actually likes/shows his buddy some respect. Though that's probably too nuanced a concept for "creative" who doesn't even know the definition of the word.

I wanna see him Tensai look like a beating is coming and instead he just grabs Sakamoto and hugs like and says "it's okay little buddy" ala Gilligan and Skipper
