...that can even remotely begin to make up for how much they've been blatantly spinning their wheels creatively in the build to it?
Seriously, since the beginning of summer, we've had practically two full throwaway PPVs in the grand scheme of things (including MitB, since there's basically nothing at all riding on it vs the same show last year) including their respective builds, and honestly since Over the Limit it seems it's been nothing but them saying "What's going on now isn't important, but Raw 1000 will be!".
Unless Vince has got something so big planned that he doesn't possibly want anything in the lead-up to it to overshadow it, I just don't get why they've been pretty much wasting shows this whole time. I mean, from what we've heard of Vince, continuity, and micromanaging (though I'll give them credit for being better with continuity references lately), apparently whatever's going to happen doesn't deserve foreshadowing or really anything because apparently that three hour Raw will be good enough.
That's all assuming it doesn't turn into a self-fellating Raw-centric or WWE-centric version of Rock's Birthday.
I just really don't think anything that could possibly happen short of like Benoit coming back from the dead could possibly justify all the time and TV hours that've been wasted.

Three hour shows and "special episodes" tend to be the drizzling shits, so I wouldn't expect much.

Instead of having a legend destroy him , Dean Ambrose gives Heath Slater a five minute beating. Just a five minute long untainted pure beating like Taker on Maven back in the day or the APA on PE.

The only thing I can think of is a good provcative debut, like Ambrose. Otherwise, I figure the entire episode will be filled with overlong comedy skits (Hunter and Shawn DX Reunion), varying levels of "legend" either getting beat up by cocky heels, or beating them up (probably both) and no real storyline development. Plus the number of past workers they are contacting seems to tell me that it will be Cole going:
"Look there's (insert pre-attitude RAW midcard), oh my gosh there's (attitude era RAW cartoonish jobber) , I loved that guy. Is that Sunny back there talking with Ted Dibiase? All the legends are out tonight. This is great."
All. Night. Long.
WWE has these kind of shows (Rock Appeciation Night, 900th Episode, etc) that just completely come to a standstill as far as storyline progressions go. It's like they always want to go for a big extravaganza feel-good moments that will reunite old fans and new, nostalgia and modernity, but I think just good solid booking plans would do that a lot better.
Needless to say, I'm not expecting much.
