Also, Francis Carmont got a nice rear naked choke to win his match.

Well there goes Munoz's chance of being the number 1 contender at 185.
Brutal Finsh by Weidman that guy is a beast.

Did not expect Weidmann to win like that!

Josh Rosenthal is usually on the ball but that was a terrible late stoppage.
Awesome win for Weidman though, this guy is good.

Josh Rosenthal is usually on the ball but that was a terrible late stoppage. This is why I agree with Dana White saying that he would rather see a early stoppage than a late stoppage because it looked like Rosenthal was waiting for Weidman to smash Munoz's skull in. Hopefully this won't overshadow Weidman's win.

A star was born tonight. I agree with Sonnen, that performance was Jon Jones-like.
He's still one fight away though.

Overall great card pity that the UFC puts f*** all effort to promoting these on Fuel and FX cards.

I would put Weidmann up against a top five contender to legitimize him. Maybe have him face Belfort, Okami or Bisping next and it would be pretty hard to argue he doesn't deserve a title shot. Then again, the way they are talking on Fuel TV it sounds like the title shot is Weidmann's. Knowing Silva he will chose Le or Bisping and stay far away from Weidmann. I just hope he doesn't go 11 months without a title defense again. If that is the case, make an interim championship match between Weidmann and the Lombard/Boetsch winner.

I believe Boetsch/Lombard and Stann/Bisping have been signed. Belfort or Belcher vs. Weidman might be the next one to make.

Boetsch/Lombard is scheduled for UFC 149, good chance it's for a title shot. Heard about Stann/Bisping, but I don't know a date. I would like to know what Belfort's ETA for his injury is. I could see him being next for Weidmann, I am sure Dana would have no problem sacrificing him to build up Weidmann even more. As far as Belcher goes, he fought in May, so it could work, but I don't see him as a step above Munoz.

Belcher shot up big time after Palhares. If he didn't get banged up from that fight, he was most likely main eventing 147 against Wanderlei as Belfort's replacement.
What's amazing was about a year ago, 185 looked like an empty cupboard. Now that division is making a run with 155 with the most possible contenders.

I still really like the Welterweight division myself, but yeah the MW division is getting much better. I just hope Silva defends the title a couple of times this next year.

170 got much improved too over the year. Hendricks and Kampmann. Nick Diaz once he returns from his semi-retirement. Ellenberger will bounce back.
