I can see Orton turning heel before Punk.
Punk's a fantastic heel, but having spent the better part of a year building him up as the #2 face I don't see the point in pissing that all away.

The weird thing is, they apparently want to do it by him dropping another epic pipebomb like the first one. Because that worked so great at keeping him heel the first time.

They've successfully built Punk into a top face (Maybe not THE top face, but definitely a top face) and will now draw money from it for a while yet I would think.

I don't think he will, but I think it could work.

Just keep him as a face. People obviously want to cheer for him so let them do that.

It seems like they've been planting seeds for a heel turn. With what Eve said last week, and Big Show on Raw saying he's just a cog in the wheel and Cena will always be the only one who matters. Not enough build. He just came off of an angle where he was made to look like the only guy with any sense. They'd need to give him time to switch gears to an angry heel (who by nature NEVER make sense). Even Big Show had to be pressured to do what Johnny Ace wanted him to.

I think there will be a pipebomb at the 100th episode but not a full on heel turn. If Punk beats Cena I can see him doing a promo about him being overshadowed and that could easily be used to start a feud with the Rock as Punk has been taking shots at him for a year. The only slight trouble is that would be very similar to the Cena vs Rock feud.

Nope, there were no pipebombs on the 100th episode.
Probably an Adam Bomb though.

This would be a terrible idea. Really, the only super over face is John Cena? Yeah, that would make hella sense.

Heel Punk is far superior. I am in favour of a heel turn. His face character is so dull now.

Punk should remain a face. As much as the WWE screws up its top babyfaces from a personality standpoint, it would work a whole lot better if Cena's character is modified, especially if he loses next week.
One of my main complaints about Cena is that his character hasn't really evolved, and if anything, has been stunted by the PG Era.

he won't. they've invested way too much into making him the anti-Cena alternative to turn him, plus if he turned heel against Cena the older fans would just keep cheering him anyway. it's more down to a problem with Cena than anything else. anyone remotely charismatic enough will get cheers against him, so he can't be used to turn anyone heel (except Big Show but that's more because nobody cares about him).

out of the 3 main faces in the company at the moment, he's the only one who doesn't get booed half the time, I see no point in turning him.
They probably will.

Loooooooooove heel Punk but I can't see him turning for a while. Not until next year at least.
And I do imagine his heel turn to be a good one. Probably going in the route that he admits to using the "sheep audience" and it was his plan all along.

What would be the point? All the work WWE has put in on Punk's face run over the last 12 months would be for nothing. I dislike that the first thing that anyone says when a wrestler gets dull is turn them heel.

Punk's now in that weird spot that so many others have been before him, like Savage, Warrior, Bret, etc. He's gone as far as he can as champion without running into whom the company truly perceives as their top star. If both Cena and Punk stay face, and Cena regains the belt, where does Punk go from here? (outside of going to SD and being top star there?).
History has shown there to be two roads. One is the Savage route; turn heel and stay in the main event program with said top babyface. You're not number 1, but you're not a distant number 2. If anything, you're a 1a.
The other is the Bret and Warrior route; the top babyface reset. The perceived top babyface get all the glory spots, and you, a distant number 2, are relegated to meaningless midcard feuds until something gets shook up and you end up back in the title picture.
It's a long road back to the belt however either way.WWE is like the Highlander with their booking. There can be only one.
