PWI
It's a tad late in the day to announce a SummerSlam match for him, but I could see it happening. Perhaps Survivor Series again, but who knows.

Well if they're going to put the WWE title on him I'd assume he'd want to work at least one match before Wrestlemania. I mean they're not just going to go ahead and award him the title are they!.... are they?

Inb4 the usual complaining...
Good. The Rock is one of the few reasons left to actually watch pay-per-views and his last two matches were definitely worth my money. I imagine he'll be showing up at Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble.
But if he's only working a few matches, I don't think we can really expect a title reign from him. At most he'll have a match for the title, but I doubt he'll win it.

I also see him being a late 5 entry in the Rumble FWIW.

I can see him wrestling the champ and putting him over but not winning the title. If he wasn't as busy I could see them putting it on him around RR and taking it off at Mania since he'd only have to work once or twice in the span and the rest could be promos.

Raw 1000, WM9 moment.
Cena wins, Rock challenges, Show interferes, Punk comes to stop him, Cena distracted, Rock wins the title.
Summerslam - Rock vs Cena for the title, Show vs Punk in random grudge match.
Rock carries the title for a few weeks, does chat show circuit, lots of old fans who like him buy Summerslam. Cena wins, gets a win back.
WM next year, 1 vs 1, best of 3 style end of feud match off.

John Cena + The Rock vs. The Miz + R Truth at SS '12.
It'll be called Never Before, No Seriously, Last Year Doesn't Count, Why Are You Looking At Us This Way, You Didn't Care When We Retconned Triple H and The Undertaker At WM 18, No Wait Please, Don't Turn The Channel, We'll Push Ryder Now, We're So Very Sorry, Would You Like An Ice Cream Bar?

I'd like to see him captain a Survivor Series team. That's what I was hoping would happen last year.

They wanted the focus to solely be on Cena and Rock. That and finding 5 credible heels to combat them would have been tough without scrapping title matches.

Survivor Series, then he'll be in the Rumble. Those will be the two dates, and that's all there should be.

That and finding 5 credible heels to combat them would have been tough without scrapping title matches. They could've done Cena & Rock as co-captains and let Orton/Barrett be one on one. Either Miz/Truth or Zig/Swag could've been the captains of the heel team. Then you'd have Cena, Rock, Sheamus, Kofi & Ryder vs. Awesome Truth, ZigSwag, and Rhodes. You could add in a bonus of Ryder eliminating Ziggler for a pop.

He was great at Mania, so any time he can work, put him out there.

He was great at Mania, so any time he can work, put him out there. I was also impressed by his work at Survivor Series. Especially considering it was his first match in 7 or 8 years. More Rock matches the better in my opinion

I have no idea why WWE scrapped the original 5 on 5 match. Such a dumb move. They wanted the focus to solely be on Cena and Rock. That and finding 5 credible heels to combat them would have been tough without scrapping title matches. I liked the original, rumored "Battle for WWE" idea, where The Rock, Cena, Triple H, CM Punk, and a fifth member (possibly Mick Foley, HBK, Austin, Bret Hart, The Undertaker, or Shane McMahon) would take on Vince McMahon (who would be revealed as behind the "conspiracy" to eliminate HHH), Kevin Nash, Alberto Del Rio, and the Awesome Truth. But as much as a blockbuster main event - and logical blow-off to all the storylines since the summer - as that would've been, there are two problems with it: one, you lose the WWE title match (and, arguably, Punk's crowning moment) and two, ALL of those face guys need to be protected like hell, so it'd have to be booked as a DX/Rated RKO-style clean sweep. Even then, that still "takes the focus off Rock and Cena", which was probably why WWE made the call they did to not have it be a 5-on-5, but it really wouldn't have hurt the match at all. Alternatively, they could've gone with the idea of "Cena's 4 VS. Rock's 4", with Cena and Rock choosing the best of the best of the WWE Roster to be on the team captained by them, which would set up future storylines and definitely not take the focus off them, but I suppose they didn't want Rock and Cena locking up at all before 'Mania in an actual match, even if it was a teaser part of a Survivor Series match.
