I voted for at 29. But that's only because I really want to finally go to Mania this year for the first time and that's a dream match that I would love to see live.
Plus newz/news is that punk is pushing for it to happen at this WM29, whether that is true or not I don't know.

I know I've been following the newz/news on it all year like the fan boy I am. ;D There is some chance I think, slim as it may be.

I really do think Austin's career is over, so I voted no.

I WOULD love to see this match happen, but in reality it wouldnt make sense. Punk is no longer SES , that was the original appeal : Alcoholic vs. Straight edge soldier. Now he's one of the most popular wrestlers in the world, i don't see him losing to Austin being a good thing, or Austin losing to Punk after having his first match in 10 years. Again I said I would nothing more than to see Austin step into the ring one more time, but against Punk wouldlnt make a lot of sense.

Austin said in interviews that he wants a match with CM Punk, but only if Punk is a heel.
They seem to have been planting seeds for an eventual CM Punk heel turn lately (with Eve mentioning how over-shadowed he's been, Big Show saying Cena is the only one fans care about and Punk is just another cog in the machine, etc.).
So I think within a few months after CM Punk's DVD and WWE '13 promotion is over he'll be a heel, and the program with Austin could start. I think the match could happen at Wrestlemania.

See now I feel strongly that it doesn't need to be Straight Edge vs Beer Drinker instead Austin has always been viewed as an outlaw, a guy that doesn't play by the rules and is the ultimate anti hero in wrestling history. Punk comes along proclaiming himself as different, original and a guy that goes by his own rules and beliefs, like Stone Cold an outlaw. Think of it like the Piper's Pit from Mania 21 and the argument Piper was putting across the fact that he was the guy that did everything that Austin did before him, and that he is pretty much a cheap knock off. Austin is Piper, and Punk is Austin in this situation. I think it is a strong enough idea to base a feud around. Make Punk the heel who comes over as a cocky arrogant kid and Austin returning as the original anti hero.
Also I don't think it would be that hard to do a promo similar to the way Punk won the ROH Championship, saying he used the fans and turn him back to SES version or something similar. Anything is possible if you can write a strong promo and have a strong and diverse personality with many characteristics, which I think Punk is. All this is just my opinion but I think there are other directions to go in with it instead of writing the match off, just due to the current direction of one of the characters.

WM 29 is pretty much the last chance.

No, it's not. Neither is Cena vs. Undertaker.
We need to move on.

I'm not doubting it. Austin has hinted at a possible return match on several occasions. He's looked in tremendous shape recently and demonstrated on Tough Enough he still has some ring skills. If he does decide to comeback, CM Punk is opponent on the top of list. There's lots of money to be made. Wrestlemania 30 would be a fitting setting.

If Austin can't really go anymore it's for the best it doesn't happen. He doesn't need to be like a Flair or Hogan who've wrestled when they shouldn't have.

No, it's not. Neither is Cena vs. Undertaker. We need to move on. How can you be so sure? Aside from Lesnar, and maybe The Rock -- Cena is Taker's most logical next opponent. And I'm guessing Undertaker has a couple more years of 'Mania matches before he calls it quits. I doubt WWE would pass on what seems to be a guaranteed big money match.

There's no real reason why it couldn't/won't happen. Both Austin and Punk seem to want it and Austin has claimed that he's capable of having a match for quite a while now.
If Punk ends up heel again with enough time for a build...I would expect to see this as a mania feud.

Why does everyone want to see Punk eat a stunner so badly? So, Austin supposedly has a few matches left in the tank, he shows up works an angle with Punk and has a Mania match and maybe a rematch and that's it. Wasn't Rocky villified by some for doing the same thing this year?

It wasn't so much Rock coming back for a match or two, it was Rock coming back for a match or two while trying to make it look like he's back for good.

No but for different reasons than Austin. It's Punk.
Punk's not a big enough draw to face Austin right now and time is running out on this match. People can say "Well it's Austin, he'll do fine on his own" but I don't think it's like that. Rock/Cena drew well because it was Rock/Cena, not simply The Rock. Austin/Lesnar or something would be pretty damn big though.
