Punk/Austin at WM.
And Punk is way better as a heel. The summer of Punk began with him as the heel. He is always more interesting in this role.

How the hell did Punk look like a chump? He got the upper hand on the Rock. By only doing so by catching him completely by surprise, after getting his ass completely handed to him by Cena. But at the end of the show, he was WWE Champion, standing tall over Rock, Cena, and Show. Far from a chump.

I so badly want him to go on Raw next week and deliver another "pipebomb". This time saying how although he's defended the WWE Championship at the last six PPVs (or however many it is), he's never been in the Main Event at any of those shows (IIRC). In that time he's played second fiddle to Cena, Lesnar, The Big Show, Johnny Ace and will be lower down the card than HHH at SummerSlam. And he's sick and tired of it. And that is what should happen.

I don't understand how that's a heel turn. The Rock is a tweener anyway so how does attacking him automatically mean Punk is now a heel?
And no, being the man who laid out The Rock does not make you a chump. If anything, considering how protected Rock has been since he's come back, Punk now looks like a world-beater.

How is Punk a heel? Maybe next week he cuts a promo turning but as of now, he's what he was last year, a pissed off anti-hero. He didn't take advantage of Cena when he could have but still let Show do his thing and then went after the guy that has stole his spotlight all year. Because Lawler said he turned his back on the WWE universe. If the commentators ever assert anything about someone, it's true the moment they say it. So when Lawler was calling Punk a heel all the way until SurSer, he was a heel? Again, Lawler is a moron.

The commentators were completely against Punk at MitB last year, but it's clear he was the face to a large portion of the audience, and the WWE knew it.

He got pinned by Cena with the ref down, and then saved by Big Show when Cena had him locked in the STF. The WWE doesn't book babyfaces to look that bad. If they booked him a little stronger you might have a point about waiting and seeing, but I doubt they make him look that weak and keep him as a face. Punk is a heel now.

So apparently that ending sucked yet people will complain till the cows come home that Punk is boring now that hes on top and that hes become stale.

The one question I have is who is Punk going to feud with? I'm guessing this ending means he's going up against Rock at the Royal Rumble, so who's he going to feud with until then? There aren't really any other faces in his league right now. I'm sure he'll face Cena once or twice but they can't have them feuding with each other all the way till next year, can they?

This just seems weird doing this on the brink of his dvd and being the cover boy for wwe '13, but vince is a mad genius so who knows where this'll lead. If history's taught me anything, it's more likely that Vince is a dumbass who keeps getting lucky.

Pretty much, if Lawler says you're a heel, you're a heel. Because the audience won't understand a nuanced character, dontchaknow.

They do that crap all the time with Cena. Does no one remember Punk beating him last year after being in the STF? Or Summerslam with Cena's foot on the rope? Cena NEVER looks bad to anyone under him.

Punk isn't a straight face though. He's always been out to prove he was better than those around him. Tonight he chose to hold onto his championship rather than let Cena take it from him. Punk briefly flirted with the idea of not taking advantage. Instead he stood aside and let Big Show do his thing. He then tried to take the victory over Cena and it backfired, almost costing him the Championship. Him attacking Rock was his way of regaining control of the situation and asserting himself as the man, even if doing so reverted him back to his heel persona.
