I'm just wondering why he always seems to be second place/runner up/the last one on the ladder with the winner in most of the Money in the Bank matches he has been in. Is there any meaning behind it? Does it mean that although they want to push him they instead want to give the briefcase to the winners?. Finally, do you believe he will win one in the future? (IMO I think/hope he does) Here are all the one's he has been in:
WM21 Edge defeated Chris Jericho, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Christian (with Tyson Tomko) and Kane. Edge knocks Benoit off the ladder with a chair for the finish. Not a runner up in this one.
WM25 CM Punk defeated Kane, Mark Henry, Montel Vontavious Porter, Shelton Benjamin, Kofi Kingston, Christian and Finlay. Crowd wanted badly for Christian to win after pushing back the ladder from the rope. Kane choke slammes Christian off the ladder, Kane then gets kicked off by Punk. 3rd in this one
WM26 Jack Swagger defeated Christian, Matt Hardy, Kane, Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Montel Vontavious Porter and Evan Bourne. Christian grabs the briefcase, but Swagger smashes it into his face and wins it. This is the one he should have won in my opinion, especially considering how things turned out with Swagger's run.
2010MITBPPV Kane defeated The Big Show, Matt Hardy, Christian, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler. Tied 3rd one on the ladder with Matt Hardy. McIntyre was the runner up in the match after being choke slammed off the ladder.
2012MITBPPVDolph Ziggler defeated Damien Sandow, Tyson Kidd, Christian, Santino Marella, Tensai, Cody Rhodes and Sin Cara. Got pushed off by Ziggler at the end of the match into another ladder while trying to reach for the Briefcase
Plus from a kayfabe point of view with the experience he has had in ladder matches in his career he should have won one by now. I just find it weird how there has always been a pattern here (except from in the first match), and with the most recent one at this years PPV it just adds more to it.
