Can anyone ennumerate Randy Orton's various hiatuses for injuries and suspensions?
It seems he's spent far less time as a 100 percent active member of the roster in the last several years than anyone with the possible exception of Undertaker, who's on a semi-retirement program.
If you include the months on end when Orton stood outside the ropes while Legacy (mostly Cody) took all the bumps for him, where he was kind of semi-active, how long has it been since he worked a whole calendar year without taking a timeout (not including rest holds or 2-minute breaks for every 2 minutes of action in the ring in his matches)?
Now that he's back, I just got to thinking it seems like him being gone is as much the norm as him being a real member of the roster. Can anyone quantify the reality of my perception?

Orton was staying pretty consistent till around late last year. Now since December, he was kayfabe out due to Barrett's attack, came back, only to miss some weeks in February (including EC), came back feuded with Kane and was set to do something with Jericho and got suspended.

But going back a bit farther -- there was the shoulder thing against HHH, I can't recall if he missed a week or more with basketball injury (claimed to have been hurt slapping his hand on the mat IIRC), and some other things.
Just seems fragile, not to mention undependable on the wellness front. Didn't WWE ask him to stop smoking because it was affecting his stamina in matches and holding him out of the main event at one point?

He was a full-time member of the roster in 2009, 2010, and up until December of 2011.
By the way thanks for making a thread just to bash Randy Orton for missing a few months of this year and claiming he does this often.

By the way thanks for making a thread just to bash Randy Orton for missing a few months of this year and claiming he does this often. But he has been out frequently. He has two wellness violations, was suspended at least once for his attitude, was supposedly suspended for smoking pot backstage (which wasn't a wellness violation at the time), had a few significant injuries over the years, and sold a kayfabe injury to boot.

Fun fact: the "bike crash" was a wellness violation they lied about. Notice how he came back with absolutely no road rash or other signs of injury, despite a "witness report from an off duty paramedic" that he looked like he'd flown or rolled about 20 feet?

Not as frequently as you seem to believe. One wellness violation was back in 2007, the other was this year. He got suspended cause he was a dick back in 2007. And considering he's been active competitor for 10 years now, it's harder to believe he hasn't had any significant injuries, even Cena has had neck injuries.

I found a website with week-by-week updates on Orton (http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/profiles/r/randy-orton.html). I see what appear to be legitimate injuries that had him out of action in parts of 2001, 2002, 2005, 2008 (twice, including the infamous 'motorcycle' incident that extended his injury hiatus), in 2009 he spent much of the year in tag matches where in Legacy took all the bumps, in 2011 he was out a month after being kayfabe thrown down a flight of stairs by Barrett -- not sure the real reason he was taken off air -- and later removed from the Elimination Chamber for a concussion.
Then, of course, he more recently was suspended for his wellness policy violation.
That's a fairly sketchy history to me.
