They are the closest thing we have to Stone Cold vs. The Rock. Hmmm , if only there was another guy in the company who challenged authority in a far more similar way to austin then orton or cena. If only there was a guy who many people have speculated would have a great feud with Austin....If only such a man existed and was the current WWE champion and had also much like austin recently beat up the rock.... if only such a man existed and was a member of the WWE.... Too bad Edge retired.

Fundamentally, I'm not against them having another match because they are both great wrestlers. However, their 2009 feud just DRAGGED on forever, so much so that two separate "stare each other down while there's no one in the ring" moments at the 2011 Royal Rumble got crickets, so I wouldn't want to see a new feud for a few more years yet.
And I believe that Sheamus/Del Rio is heading this way too.

WWE's production team will mind control you all into wanting it now. I forgot about that promo. One of my favorites of all time.

I'd rather see Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler again.

Like 'em both, liked their 2009 feud, but I could wait for some more years.

I can't stomach an Orton match period.

It's weird but despite getting pretty personal, with Cena Sr getting punted and all, I never got the vibe that these guys had an epic encounter. For as long as they've been in WWE and as often they faced each other, I don't think they've had an all out war in any match. Like, I just think their rivalry would've been bigger than it was.

As long as it's not Face Cena vs. Heel Orton. I got enough of that in 2009 and I'd quite content to never see those two lock up again with those alignments.
Face Cena vs. Face Orton? Maybe. Depends on how the storyline is written. Heel Cena vs. Face Orton? That actually has potential.
Ultimately, the biggest problem would be that there'd be nothing else to really do with them, unless it's a "Loser Retires" stipulation (and they'd actually have to mean it. The loser is gone for good). They battled through every other gimmick match out there.

Hmmm , if only there was another guy in the company who challenged authority in a far more similar way to austin then orton or cena. Outside of the initial PIPEBOMB~! and leaving with the belt, did Punk really challenge authority in any way similar to Austin? Looking back IED era Orton did far more damage than Mr. Voice of the Voiceless. Well he led to Vince being removed from power, Triple H being removed from power, started the Ace stuff before they moved it to Cena and now is at odds with AJ.

Cena/Orton burned me out so much I took a long break from wrestling. I really want it to be a "never again" thing where they just don't.

The "End Of The Rivalry" match was like an hour long scene from an awesome action movie.
I can't imagine they'd beat it.

I completely missed out on 2009 so i could actually stomach an Orton/Cena match. A feud would have to be a non title, non main eventing feud though.

yes, they're both on different levels in-ring that they were in 2009, but WWE would need a good reason to have the feud/match.

If "match" is the keyword, sure. They can work well together at times.
