Rey Mysterio Sr contracted raging apathy in a freak accident involving a monkey. This is why I love TEW
EDIT: Also Billy Gunn won the 1998 royal rumble

So, went back to my WWF96 game. Currently, Simmons, Jesse James, and Goldust are the guys I'm grooming to take the top spots in 97. Ringmaster and Helmsley are in a tag team and I'm preparing to give them the Tag Team titles at Mind Games. Also just remembered that I have Rocky Maivia on my main roster, so I'm gonna work on getting him ready to move up, as well as Aldo Montoya(as Justin Credible).
Bret Hart, Owen Hart, and Yokozuna all want to leave. I don't give a shit about Yoko, but I need the Harts until at least WrestleMania, so that could be a problem. They're feuding with each other right now, but they've been unhappy for months. I was able to turn Sid's morale around by feuding him with Mankind and giving him a win over Mabel on Superstars.
Vince McMahon is retiring at the end of the month, so Jim Ross is going to get the lead announcer spot. And Rowdy Roddy Piper has been my President since Gorilla Monsoon retired back in May.
As for my feuds, Diesel and HBK are feuding for the WWF Championship, Goldust is facing Undertaker, Simmons has Vader, Jake Roberts has Brian Pillman, Helmsley and Ringmaster are feuding with the Gunns for the Tag Team titles, Razor and Bulldog are feuding, plus the aforementioned Owen/Bret and Sid/Mankind feuds. And while he doesn't have a feud right now, Jesse James is the Intercontinental Champion and I try to use him at least once a week on either Raw or Superstars.

This game gets better and better. For starters, the backyard league must be growing, because they added Sick Boy and Danny Doring. Secondly, a second backyard group just opened, featuring Shane Helms, Lodi, Gran Apolo, Tony Mamaluke, Johnny The Bull, Jamie Noble, Don Frye, Jason Broyles, Jesus Castilo, and their top star... Amy Dumas.
It's October now and I can't wait to see what other absurdity takes place.

Coming up to my 2 year Anniversary Show. Since the last Anniversary Show I brought in Hardcore Kid Kojiro a micro indy wrestler from Japan who came in for a 6 day tour (6 dates in 2 weeks). I also brought in a Big Japan rookie who wrestled 2 matches for me but the most important "name" was Scott Steiner. In Australia and New Zealand we have a three day convention called the Armageddon Expo and they'll have a wrestling show that goes for an hour or two each day at the convention. They always have a wrestling guest who is often a WWE legend so what I do is set the filters to "active wrestlers" over the age of 50 and I randomly cycle through names with my eyes shut until a somewhat realistic guest comes up. Last year it was Bob Orton Jr and this time it was Scott Steiner. Steiner wrestled Reuben De Jong and lost to him (without complaining) whilst wrestling a couple of my other guys.
Now for the Anniversary Show this is set to be my biggest show yet. Last years featured Shinya Ishikawa and Sonjay Dutt but the companies growth has lead to me managing to get Brodie Lee (Luke Harper) fresh out of WWE. He left the company in October 2016 and I hired him in November for my January 2017 shows. My NWA counterparts immediately snapped him up (and jobbed him out) on loan deals but regardless the Anniversary Show this year is going to feature Brodie Lee challenging Reuben De Jong (Who has held the belt for 12 months) for the NWA New Zealand Heavyweight Title.
I also grabbed Super Shenlong who had signed a deal with Big Japan and is their current BJW Strong World Heavyweight Champion. He's going to work the mid week Dojo Show and the 2 weekend shows. Ayumi Gunji from Michinoku Pro is going to work all three shows as well and I've managed to sign Madison Eagles to a 1 year verbal contract so she'll come in and take my Ladies Title from Evie.
Didn't think I'd enjoy a game in New Zealand but it's been a lot of fun. Only using the internationals a couple times a year leads to a big booking challenge where you need to find guys that can actually get good ratings with your top guys and with only 4 main event guys this leads to a lot of talent swapping with the NWA Australia promotion and when I don't have that you need interesting ways to book rematches. Reuben has held the belt for a year now simply because nobody else that I have on the full time roster is capable of holding it long term and the guys I build up don't get over enough.
Hoping that 2017 will lead to either PPV or Television time. Fingers crossed.

So, wrapped all my previous feuds at Buried Alive, save for Pillman/Roberts, which ends on the next Raw. New feuds:
Michaels/Vader - WWF Championship Bret/Goldust Simmons/Sid Undertaker/Mankind Mero/Owen - IC Title Razor&Kid/Helmsley&Ringmaster - Tag Team Titles Bart/Billy Maivia/Credible
Jesse James went to rehab, so I had to take the IC title off of him. I gave it to Owen to try and change his morale. Bret and Goldust are friends, so hopefully that helps with Bret's morale. Bart is the heel vs. Billy due to him moving up the card. And I created Justin Credible a year early when I needed challengers for Jesse James.
Come WrestleMania, I'm shifting focus fully to my new stars: Vader, Simmons, Goldust, Mankind, Mero, Jesse James, Bart, Austin, Helmsley, Credible, Maivia, Windham, and Bradshaw. So we'll see how well it goes.

So, I might start a new game with the Jan 2010 data for TNA. Still gonna finish my WWF96 game, though.

Here are my plans from Survivor Series thru WrestleMania 13:
Putting the belt on Vader at It's Time, ending the Michaels feud there if I can, Rumble at the latest. Planning on giving Simmons the big Rumble win and running Simmons/Vader part 2 up to WrestleMania. Mankind/Undertaker and Goldust/Bret will run until WrestleMania, with Undertaker going over in the first Hell in a Cell match, Mankind taking a sick bump to aid a face turn and Vader feud post-Mania. Meanwhile, Goldust will beat Bret to set himself up as the first challenger for Simmons. Provided he's back in time, Jesse James will feud with Bart Gunn to hopefully elevate both to the main event.
Rulers of the Ring will drop the titles to Razor and Kid, then break up and feud in another star-making feud, hopefully. Razor and Kid will likely lose the titles at Revenge of the Taker to Windham and Bradshaw. And Maivia is slotted to take the IC title from Owen Hart. So the Mania card looks like this:
Vader vs. Simmons - WWF Championship Undertaker vs. Mankind - Hell in a Cell Bret vs. Goldust Owen vs. Maivia - IC Title Jesse James vs. Bart Gunn Rulers of the Ring vs. Razor and Kid - Tag Team titles Windham and Bradshaw vs. Fatu and Vega vs. Godwinns vs. Bodydonnas - Number One Contenders match Pillman vs. Michaels Credible vs. Mero - Pre-show

I think TEW is designed for you to lose... I looked at one of the results of a wwe card and nothing got better rating than a C- and the show got an A+ How? Meanwhile I got Okada and bryan going 30 min that gets a D

Wow. Since I started this game(January 1996), 7 new companies have opened and are all still running. Two national companies, a cult fed, a regional promotion, a small fed, and two backyard leagues. Never had this many. I did a Chikara game once where five or six companies went out of business, but this is something new for me. And it looks like one of the national groups is going to go global soon, and ECW is almost at national status. This game is getting interesting.

Just wrapped up Survivor Series, which went far better than I'd expected:
Pre-show: Savio Vega, Fatu, Doug Furnas, and Phil LaFon def. Barry Windham, Justin Hawk Bradshaw, and The Headbangers Marlena revealed herself as Bart Gunn's new manager Billy Gunn, Rocky Maivia, Bob Holly, and Phineas Godwinn def. Bart Gunn, Justin Credible, Salvatore Sincere, and Jeff Jarrett Mankind def. The Undertaker when Paul Bearer betrayed The Undertaker and joined Mankind The Rulers of the Ring def. Razor Ramon and The 1-2-3 Kid to retain the Tag Team Championship, after Windham and Bradshaw interfered President Piper introduced the newest member of the WWF roster: Chyna Goldust and Bret Hart fought to a time limit draw; afterwards, Goldust refused to shake Bret's hand Ron Simmons, Marc Mero, Jake Roberts, and Henry Godwinn def. Sycho Sid, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, and Brian Pillman Shawn Michaels def. Vader by disqualification to retain the WWF Championship; afterwards, Vader laid out the ref
Now to start building towards It's Time and hopefully wrapping a most of the current feuds before the Royal Rumble.
Also, Bret Hart is at 4% morale. I'm not sure what more I can do to keep him with the company, so I may have to blow off the Goldust feud early, release Bret, then find a new opponent for Goldust heading to WrestleMania...

Well, looking ahead, it seems like I may have to wrap the Tag title feud early. If that's the case, I may keep the belts on Austin and Helmsley for the time being. I actually have quite a few teams to work with, including The Rulers, Fatu and Savio Vega, Furnas and LaFon, the Headbangers, the Bodydonnas, the Godwinns, Bulldog and Owen, Razor and Kid, The Goon and The Brooklyn Brawler, and Windham and Bradshaw. So plenty of ways to go, at least.
As for the IC Title, Owen's morale is improving, but if he won't resign with me, I'll have to hotshot the belt to Maivia early. Also, Henry Godwinn keeps wanting to work with Diesel, so I might add that as a feud. But what worries me is if I start phasing out my main event guys, that they'll go to WCW, ECW, or NWCW. All I need is Bret or Diesel to help take ECW global. So I'm conflicted, cause I don't want to push them, but I also don't want to lose them to the competition.

Well, I made it a full year with WWF. I ended up having Owen Hart drop the IC Title to Jesse James, then granted both Hart brothers their releases. New World Championship Wrestling picked them up within 2 weeks. NWCW is now global, while ECW has gone national, and another national company opened up at the beginning of December.
My feuds that will likely take me to WrestleMania 13:
Vader vs. Ron Simmons Undertaker vs. Mankind Shawn Michaels vs. Brian Pillman Goldust vs. Jake Roberts Savio Vega and Fatu vs. Justin Hawk Bradshaw and Barry Windham The Ringmaster vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley Bart Gunn vs. Jesse James Marc Mero vs. Rocky Maivia.
Maivia and Razor Ramon are both going heel, while Ringmaster is going face(and finally becoming Stone Cold). Razor and Diesel are also going to get their real names and form the Outsiders. And Maivia will become The Rock. Attitude Era, here I come...

Do you guys actually use the in-game feud system? I used to but I stopped years ago. I hate how inflated and top-heavy it can make your roster due to a bunch of guys suddenly having 90+ overness. Too unrealistic to me.

Too unrealistic to me. Yeah, I'm noticing that can cause problems. I currently have 9 main eventers, including Jake Roberts, who's rise came out of nowhere. One day he just told me he should be pushed more. It has helped me establish a ton of guys I want to push, though, like Rocky Maivia, Jesse James, Ron Simmons, Vader, and Goldust. But I can see how having so many top guys creates problems.

It turns out Dean Ambrose is in love with the CoCo. He just went to rehab 10 days away from a tag match between him & Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper at Wrestlemania. Now, I gotta give f***ing Sheamus the spot.

Too unrealistic to me. I try not to use it unless I need to get some guys over quickly because another promotion has more over guys. It just doesn't feel natural at all when you can put a midcarder in a 3 month feud and have him be a main eventer by the end of it.

put the backyard challenge on hold and created a custom regional promotion with Kyle O Reilly and Zack Sabre as my main guys.
First large show, 100% match quality between them. cool
almost difficult to get a weekly tv show though.

Starting a game based on the Invasion. Backstory is Shane's win over Vince at WrestleMania X7 gave WCW immediate control of Raw. Shane also signed Benoit to a contract. Trish and Foley will also be hired after Smackdown. And a number of developmental guys will be brought up to pad WCW's roster, along with a few defectors from the WWF.
Brand split is in effect here. Not sure how I'll handle feuds yet. Other than Booker T and Benoit, WCW has no main event talent. So some feuds might help. Plus there are certain guys from WWF who will get pushed(Raven and Rhyno, anyone?) So it's gonna be interesting.

So the time has finally arrived. NWA New Zealand has earned a national time slot in the Early Evenings on Wednesday nights. The show will go for one hour and will be on "The Box" which according to the game is a pretty small network but it's national so who cares? We're going to walk into the show with Reuben De Jong as the NWA New Zealand Heavyweight Champion who still hasn't dropped the title even though he has held it for a year and a half.
So the preparations for the big national TV debut were fun. I wanted to have a few recognizable names on the marquee because quite frankly I have zero so I signed Orlando Jordan from my rival IPW New Zealand. Good thing is he's their current IPW New Zealand Heavyweight Champion and won't have time to drop it. Bad thing is Orlando Jordan will cost me 1000 dollars an appearance to have on my shows and lets be honest, Orlando Jordan isn't worth a thousand dollars. I also took Alfred Valentine from IPW who is a guy that has been with them for 11 years. In his farewell match for the company before coming over he got injured and is now out for 2 months which means the big TV debut won't occur although it will freshen up my main event scene in 2 months after Reuben De Jong Vs Orlando Jordan runs it's course.
In a bit of a coup for me I managed to recruit both Bushwhackers to the company. Butch was an easy one agreeing to join the company under a "Whatever I Need" contract but not Bushwhacker Luke. My initial idea was to have a big six man feud on TV between my number 2 baby face and The Bushwhackers against my user character and his stable but Bushwhacker Luke refuses to work non television shows or Pay Per Views. Therefore my return of The Sheepherders show which would feature their retirement match (Which was going to be a Bloodbath like the Sheepherders did do) will now have to be on TV and I just know they won't be cool with some deathmatch style match.
But yeah. Orlando Jordan and The Bushwhackers (Both in their 70's) is all I'm bringing to the table for the national television debut. That'll put butts in the seats.

In one game I ran a few years ago, Vampire Zone Combat or whatever they're called, had Terri Runnels as their top star with a Monster gimmick. I wonder what sequence of events led to this.
