On Raw, we had Del Rio slapping Ricardo around throughout the night, insulting him, and leaving him to clean up his car. For those of you who remember Virgil's face turn on DiBiase, Ted would do basically the same thing to him, forcing him to do increasingly more humiliating tasks, while belittling him throughout, until Virgil finally snapped.
Anyone think they are going this route with Ricardo? Will we see him blast Del Rio with the World Title or another belt sooner rather than later?

Considering a lot of people only tolerate Del Rio because of Ricardo, I'm sure a Virgil-style face turn would be greatly appreciated.

But after a feud with ADR, what would be left for Ricardo to do?
With his body-type, I can't see WWE using him as anything but a comedy act. And they already have Santino and to a lesser-degree Zack Ryder who serve that purpose.

The best thing to do is to keep Ricardo with Del Rio, get Del Rio out of the World Title scene ASAP and push them as a tag team. Ricardo is still young. He's 26, Del Rio is 35 and plans to retire at 40. Keep them together as a unit, flip flopping between working the tag division and Del Rio getting the occasional singles feud/title shot, while Ricardo works the lower midcard and the C-shows, racking up wins against NXT jobbers/Bateman/Usos, but jobbing to popular midcarders like Kidd, Santino, Ryder, Riley, Kofi, etc. Ricardo can play a Kennedy-esque role, introducing himself before proceeding to do the usual Del Rio introduction. Have Del Rio "pass the torch" to Ricardo when he retires. By this point, Ricardo will be in his early 30s and seasoned enough for a serious push.

My only problem is just that I worry Ricardo might end up hurt long-term because of his association with Del Rio. He could well be able to have a career of his own where he can get over without being associated with heatless, tired feuds and anounces someone nobody cares about the constant pushes of. Hell, maybe splitting the two and having them feud would give Del Rio some excitement and a change in character would do him some good.
My worry about torch passing is that I don't know if Del Rio can continue to get such apathy long enough to stay around and relevant until he retires.

F no, I hope they don't split them. What is with the trend of splitting things that work.

Ricardo throwing in Del Rio's towel would be a great moment.

I'd be like Riley turning on Miz, made for a great moment- but will go nowhere.
