Well to be honest...Edge has put on some pretty darn good matches most in the tag team division, but he can still work a pretty good match. I'm not a fan of his in any way, but to say that he shouldn't ever win the title is just ridiculous. He's put in his time and effort, can carry pretty good matches and can even do a moderate job on the mic, even though I know he can do better.

Yeah, and I've never seen so much love for Edge in all my days either. Rated R Superstar. The 'R' stands for ridiculous. Face it, Cena being dethroned has nothing to do with Edge, and people on here making Edge out to be a some sort of saviour, especially in such a New Testament way, is quite offensive considering Edge's sense of morals. Like I said, Cena worked his arse off, Edge acted like an idiot in real life... and Edge is the credible champion? Something criminey jeezeing stinks. Quite frankly, if it's the crowd's slackening moral fibre, then I'll point the finger there without hesitation. Well, on a personal level, I don't care for what Edge did, but that is not the point I want to make. I happen to think that Edge is a more talented wrestler than John Cena. I've never seen the big deal about Cena, personally. Sure, he had good matches with Kurt Angle, but who doesn't look good when in the ring with "The Olympic Hero"? But, after 2003, Cena's matches became lazy, predictable affairs. Little was done to change them up. Perhaps the road agents are a little to blame for that. Edge, IMO, desrves the title more than Cena based purely on in-ring ability. As to Edge's moral standing, maybe he is a jerk, but if Matt Hardy was willing to overlook their personal problems to such a degree that he was able to work alongside Edge again, then maybe it's ok for the rest of us to move on too.

Well, we must be pretty forgiving then seeing as when the whole thing first came to light he got incredulous amounts of boos for nothing he did ON AIR, with guys standing up and defiantly shouting 'why did you cheat on your wife?'... and since then he has done absolutely nothing to redeem himself. Cena losing last night was relief for everyone because it meant the end of his, admittedly tired, reign. What the Hell that has to do with Edge apparently now being great I don't know, but Edge hasn't done anything of note for the past two years aside from some very STUPID mistakes. All of a sudden, he's (to quote some people) 'Jesus'? What a joke.

All of a sudden, he's (to quote some people) 'Jesus'? What a joke. Ok, I wouldn't take it nearly that far. At most I'd say it shakes up the title scene a bit (which is always refreshing), but I would be confused if any of these compliments being paid towards Edge were coming from the very people who were lambasting him last year for being an utter bastard! Even ending a tired title reign shouldn't be enough redemption, IMO, to start praising the guy like there's no tomorrow if you were damnig him to the depths of hell less than a year ago. However, with that said, this has piqued my interest & I do intend to check out Raw tonight for the first time in quite a while.

In response to my earlier post
IT WAS A DAMN JOKE!
I meant that him winning the title was more of a breaht of fresh air. Havin Cena hold the tiltle for so long was diminishing its vaue. Hell I'd have been happy if Masters had won the title ( I can't believe I just typed that) The title needed a better treatment it needed fresh blood.

Wish I could check out RAW tonight, but sadly, AFN only shows it on Tuesday Nights...so I'm already behind.

This coming from someone that proclaims themself WrestleCrap's own personal Jesus.

Personal Jésus. JÉSUS.
If you knew Austin Aries (avatar) at all, he sometimes uses 'Personal Jesus' as his theme tune. The monicker of being 'Wrestlecrap's very own Personal Jésus' is a disparaging one against myself, in that I'm the bad bodyguard of Wrestlecrap, or something.
It has nothing to do with Jesus, and I'm not mocking Jesus. Understand?

Well will thay still have John Cena sucking up the crowd?
I mean in the past he would say the thing that matters in pro wrestling is 'And he would point to the crowd'.
I said in another post he should turn heel at Wrestlemania. But now they should strike while the iron is hot.

ixnay on the semantics arguement pertaining to Jesus kay? It can only get uglier.
Said it before, I'll probably say it again, I don't really care what they do in their personal lives/backstage so long as it doesn't come out that Edge killed a drifter or Cena had relations with a water buffalo or something. Does the whole cheating thing make the guy not a great friend, meh probably.. what's that have to do with his character again?

My bad on the extra Edge thread. Anyways, this is awesome. Hopefully Edge will have a lengthy title reign. Hell. NO. Edge doesn't even deserve the belt. I mean come on. The only reason he's gotten so much attention as he did was because of what he and Lita did to Matt. I have literally turned off the majority of his appearances on my TV. And now this lame piece of trash is the WWE champion? Good GOD. Someone give John his contractual rematch and get the belt back on him. NOW!

I just finished watching it.
I was so angry when Angle was eliminated.
I was furious when Cena won.
I LOVED it when Edge won.
I was a big fan of Edge and Christian, then I kind of lost interest in Edge. Christian's always been great. But since his most recent heel turn Edge has been great. And I would normally be outraged that Angle didn't win, it's just I'm so pleased to see Cena lose the title.
Hopefully he won't get it back. Ever.

Edge doesn't deserve the WWE Title at all. John Cena is the greatest WWE Champion on RAW! The Royal Rumble is going to definitely OWN!! The WWE title is diminished in value because of Edge holding it.
Why? Because John Cena deserves that title. Not Edge or HHH.
SMART decision for Vince to have John vs. Edge at the Royal Rumble.

Cena is going to get the WWE Title back, he is THE WWE Champion and deserves to keep it. John is going to kick Edge's ass and defeat him for the title.

You sir, are entitled to your opinion, however, Edge has not deserved to even be with the company for some time now. The fact that they screwed over a good face run like this, proves that the WWE has lost all desire to have face wrestlers altogether. I'm just waiting to see Kane start taking flamethrowers to everyone.

John Cena has proven he didn't deserve to have his title run screwed over either.

I guess Triple H should be fired too, then, since he dumped Chyna for Stephanie! And how was Cena having a "good face run" when he was being booed out of every building WWE hosted an event in? Last night's Raw was the first I watched in quite some time & there were very noticable boos for Cena. He's just not over as a face.

Well, he's been pretty far from entertaining for quite a while now. Hell, his entire segment tonight was boring and really, really terrible, along with every other segment he's done since... well, let's just say for a long time. I don't think he doesn't deserve to be with the company, but he doesn't deserve to have the title, and it's just silly to say he does.
