One of the dumbest I have seen on my trips to the U.S was when I happened across Die Hard With A Vengeance on cable. They changed McClane's sign to "I Hate Everyone". I can understand why they may have had to censor it but couldn't it just have been blurred out? If you believe Internet Movie Database, the original sign was "I Hate Everyone." The sign was then CGI'd for the movie to say the offending quote. www.imdb.com/title/tt0112864/trivia

MTV edited the hell out of "Santeria" by Sublime when they first aired the video. Words like "slap" were muted.

How about when MTV censored the music video for Jeremy by cutting the scene where Jeremy puts the gun in his mouth-then it goes from obviously depicting a suicide to seemingly depicting a school shooting, ironically making the video appear more violent.
