I'm confused, I thought Heenan wasn't ever brought back because he was ill? Do he and Vince have some issues? This is either breaking news or NEWZ. Heenan appeared on several DVD and Raw specials while sick, and only stopped appearing when he got really bad and had his jaw removed. According to Vince himself, he's got the "greatest manager ever" distinction. Unless they had some falling out, which seems impossible since Heenan has never slagged on Vince in public, this is newz.

Roughly 24 hours and we're at 26 pages of responses. This is why I love FAN.
As for AW, smell ya later. I won't miss him, but I do hope that Darren Young and Titus O'Neil get a new manager/mouthpiece as it seemed to work well for them.

Well that's a big pile of crap from Meltzer. As has been said, AW is nowhere in the same league as Hart, Graham, or Sable when it comes to making money for WWE. He is a nobody who at the moment appears to have a big mouth. Maybe TNA will pick him and maybe they'll just take a pass. Fighting back didn't do Nailz any favors and a big mouth didn't help Billy Jack Haynes.
As for Heenan, there was only a very small window to bring back the Brain. His contract with WCW expired in November 2000 and he announced he had throat cancer in January 2002. But he knew he had throat cancer and or was sick long before January 2002. So we're talking about a period of a year or less where Vince could have signed Heenan to a commentary contract and bumped someone off RAW or Smackdown. It was a transitional period. Vince didn't sign Okerlund to a contract until the spring of 2002 when they created WWE Confidential. Positions had to open up and new positions had to be created while WWE sorted through WCW, ECW, and whatever future plans they had. Plus as has been said, Billy Graham was never brought back for more than one-off appearances.
But I don't think there's any doubt had Heenan not gotten sick, Vince would have given him a commentators position eventually or even a role as General Manager if Heenan was okay with traveling.

I'm really glad Wade Keller is around to tell me what is or isn't funny. Without him, I'd have no idea when to laugh...

Wade Keller kinda sounds bitter. I didn't like the rape joke but AW was f***ing awesome. And just too pro wrestling for WWE.

A shame since he's got alot of charisma, but really stupid way to handle your frustrations. Seven year olds go off on swearing rampages on Twitter, and adults who act like such. Meh.

I agree with Keller, the only thing that AW is doing now is making sure that he never works in the big time again. TNA won't even bring this moron in.

Can you imagine if Daniel Bryan did this after he got fired? I think he'd still be rehired simply because Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan had megastar potential even back then. Even generic baby face Daniel Bryan had potential. Daniel Bryan would've been the Pipebomb Guy long before CM Punk's shoot promo.

How the hell did this get to 26 pages? WWE is a soulless corporate entity. They're not going to allow something like this out of someone who doesn't draw any money. And they sure as hell aren't going to allow someone to mock Linda's pointless waste of money.... er, I mean political campaign. LOL

TNA won't even bring this moron in. God, I hope not. I don't even want to see the shoot video he eventually releases. Let's see if he says anymore shocking things there.

Does this mean no more Twitter overload during Raw and Smackdown?? AW knows they go all out during the shows abot twitter/tout/facebook/aol chat, and that could be his opportunity to really make some vile comments, when people are being urged to go see that #Snickerdoodledingdong is trending.

When was Joey Styles suspended? But didn't Val Venis do a lot of political commentary on his website when he was an active WWE Superstar? And Kane writes some political columns too from time to time. The difference is they did it on their personal websites or through means that didn't make them an official representative of the WWE and their views. What Joey Styles did was on his official WWE Twitter and the language he used was really inflammatory. Didn't know he got suspended for it, though. EDIT: Feels real weird to say this, but I agree with Wade Keller.
