To be fair, does England have a gargantuan cryptozoological thing to make reference to that would fit in the Dungeon of Doom? We got the Yeti from the Himalayas, the Shark from the depths of the ocean, The Leprechuan from Ireland, Kamala from Africa, where would England fit?

The one that got the American in "An American Werewolf In London"

Same reason as Roddy Piper wears a skirt and plays bagpipes.

Why was the Yeti clearly a Mummy? And then later a Power Ranger?

I'm more curious as to why he was named after the body of water and not the monster...

England and Scotland are both countries, with the United Kingdom as the sovereign state.
As someone said a few posts back, it wasn't exclusively a WCW thing; he was billed as the Loch Ness Monster in Stampede Wrestling in the 1970s, supposedly to avoid confusion with Haystacks Calhoun.

When he was from England??! A six minute promo of hilarious overacting and total nonsense, best remembered for the line:"It's not hot!" Dry-humping Yeti that was a mummy, and then a ninja. Sumo-monster truck battle...on the roof...where The Giant plunges to his assumed death, and then goes on to wrestle on the same night with no attempt to give an explanation as to how he was even alive. The fued ended in the Doomsday Cage match. You somehow expect the same brain trust behind all of this to have an understanding of European geography?

Giant Haystacks was a knock-off name from Haystacks Calhoun, WCW probably wanted to use a more original name.

But England and Scotland are in the same country. For future reference, DO NOT say this to/around a Scottish person (IF the situation should arise).

Dry-humping Yeti that was a mummy, and then a ninja. And then a member of Raven's Flock.

It doesn't bother me too much, since it's like saying Kozlov was from Russia instead of the Ukraine. Dumbing down the geography.
