I recall a recent thread on things which are too fake in wrestling, and one thing I thought of that fits into that is ref distractions.
It seems like referees are never evaluated on their performances, and they never improve. Why do they always fall for the same distractions from the same heels week in week out? Another thing I don't understand is when it's the face manager/tag partner trying to point out a cover but the ref is more interested in telling them to stand back.

I would thought that in the interest of fairness the WWE would have assigned two refs to each match by this point.

It be funny if the refs had personalities and names again and they decided to do a "Referee Evaluation" and the refs that suck at their jobs got fired.
