I mean, take away the fact that we all knew Jericho was leaving so they had to find a way to do it.
But think about kayfabe wise. He beats Ziggler at Summerslam, and is minding his own business before Ziggler comes to him talking about a rematch. He's not a bitch, so of course he's game for another, but for some reason the GM makes it MITB versus his contract. Thats not really balanced is it?
EH?
I mean, it would have been so much better for that stip to come naturally rather than someone randomly deciding it. You know, just have Jericho or Ziggler propose the stip, and bam, it makes way more sense.

Was it fair for Ziggler to injure Jericho before their match at summerslam? No. In fact that could have been the main reason why he lost tonight.
edit* just realized the question, as for the main purpose of this thread. I do agree it should have come naturally but why drag this feud on any longer to reach that point. Ziggler has to get some names under his belt before he cashes in that title shot.

It actually would have made more sense if Ziggler won last night for such a stipulation.

I'm fine with it and I enjoyed the Jericho/Ziggler feud.

The stip wasn't the problem. Its how it came about.
It made sense in what Ziggler/Jericho were doing, which is why THEY should have came up with it weeks ago. It was just so random and "Jericho's got to leave now" that it was jarring.

Of course it wasn't fair. Of course it made no sense. Of course it won't be explained.
It's an AJ storyline. She's CRAAAAAAZY. Which totally isn't a cop-out for lazy, incompetent writing that has no structure or purpose to it.

They should've just had Ziggler destroy Jericho and have him stretchered out to explain his leaving the WWE.

Kayfabe wise it's like she just randomly pulled the stipulation outta nowhere.

Yeah...now I'm sick of AJ. Smashing job WWE, smashing.
They don't need GM's anyway. The brand split is over. But hey, whatever, no logic can be applied in wrestling and all that...

That was terrible and their match sucked.
Ziggler should have begged for a rematch and Jericho should have asked for the briefcase to be on the line. Then after Ziggler retains, he should have took out Jericho with the briefcase in the injured ribs until he gets stretchered out leaving him room to return.

Also, man Jericho's leave was really anti-climactic.
As was Cole straight up turning on him there at the end.

I know we've done this three times or so now and everyone assumes he'll be back after a while, but I haaaated that. They have a three hour show now, and yet they were so pressed for time that they couldn't let this emotional moment finish (and that's what they were playing it as) and let Chris get a final ovation and walk through the curtain before shilling their movie and cutting him off on the ramp? Jesus.

I almost sort of wish Jericho had left after Summerslam, and the loss to him would be something that burned in the back of Ziggler's mind, brought up every so often (even after he won a world title), acting as a berserk button that could play into his character for while.

It would have been better if he had lost at Summerslam, stayed in the ring for awhile, received a huge ovation and left, acknowledging the crowd and fans as he left. Instead, we got this.

My immediate thought was "I thought we were supposed to like AJ?" Tonight, David Otunga came in, clean shaven and friendly, offering his legal services. AJ did her weird dead chick eyes then sentenced him to a match with the Big Show. HUH? I know, Otunga said the word crazy, it's her berzerk button. It's still dumb. Puts sympathy on Otunga, makes her look like a psycho bitch, and Show just...beats people up for some reason.
