So, years and years and years ago (that's not an indication as to when they were made, by the way - just when I first saw them) in the early 90's, a family friend had some paintings on his walls. They were all of girls, just their heads, on a white background. I think they were all blonde, and they all had on red lipstick - and that seemed to be the main emphasis of these paintings.
Do these sound familiar to anybody? I'm trying to find them on the internet, and I'm just hoping they weren't a local artist - so I'm hoping this'll ring a bell with those that are much more in the know with art than myself.

At first I thought it might be Patrick Negel - he did a lot of female portraits but I'm not sure if it's him or not.
Do you remember anything else about them? Stuff like what kind of style they had - did they look realistic or a bit cartoony, etc?
I'm thinking it could possibly be a "good girl" artist - if the pictures were sexy it might be one of those artists who did it - someone like Vargas for example.

Just looked up some of his paintings - these ones were definitely done in a more realistic style than Patrick's. Well, they were sexy in a way - but they weren't nude or anything like that. I know that's pretty general, but that's all I can really remember. All of them had red lipstick, though - and blue eyes, I think.

You may want to check out some Good Girl Art then. I can't really post links here because they might not be ok. If they all followed a theme (red lipstick, blondes, etc) it makes me think they are probably from that era. They were often sexy pictures but nothing too sleazy.
I wish you had a pic of one because then it might be a bit easier to solve. They sound interesting.

Here's a picture I found whilst searching, though. It's of Bar Rafaeli, but the way she looks is a dead ringer for what the paintings looked like. Just from the front, and on a snow white background. Really, really blue eyes and bold red lipstick. In looking at that picture, though - my guess is that they were probably painted in the 80's - because I remember some of the girls' hair being kind of big. Not comically huge, but definitely teased.

Okay, I just asked my Mom if she remembers these paintings. Turns out, I could be wrong on the painting side - she said they were just pictures - so I'm thinking maybe they were sketches (because they weren't just photographs of girls). So, now I'm even more confused.
