And no, not just because a house show lineup said so.
Its been made pretty clear that the Rock is only going to wrestle Cena or Punk at the Royal Rumble. Anyone else in the title scene is useless at this point, as they'll only come off like Big Show did at Summerslam, except worse since they aren't a giant. I'm guessing they'll want to keep us guessing as to who, so this isn't ending at Night of Champions. Here's what I'm thinking. It'll be kinda like Cena/Orton in 09.
NOC: Cena vs Punk in Boston.
HIAC: Cena vs Punk in the cell.
SS: Team Cena vs Team Punk.
TLC: Cena vs Punk in a TLC or Ladder match.
Of course, this many rematches means a title change or two.

I hope so. Cena and Punk are dynamite together. I could easily watch them feud for the rest of the year.

How would they do a Team Cena vs. Team Punk at SS if one of them has the title?
And I'd be willing to bet the title match at TLC will be some sort of multi-superstar match.

I'd be all for this. All of those matches would be awesome. How would they do a Team Cena vs. Team Punk at SS if one of them has the title? Undertaker has been rumored for a Survivor Series match. If not him then there will probably be something with Brock and/or HHH. If they have something big then they don't need a WWE title match to sell the show. |

Great, more Cena? Joy.  How about we get some fresh faces into the title picture that can feud with Punk? You have Ziggler, Bryan, Mysterio(Not what he used to be but still a new face to feud with Punk), Sheamus, and maybe start the Kofi singles push again. |

They'll have to do something to break up the monotony, because four straight Cena-Punk pay-per-view matches would really be pushing it. Doesn't necessarily have to be Team Cena vs. Team Punk though. A multi-man title match at Survivor Series and then a final blowoff at TLC would do the trick just as well.
Here's an idea. If Undertaker does come back at that pay-per-view, what if he were put into the WWE title match at SS? It could help draw some interest for the show and Brock Lesnar/Paul Heyman could cost him the match to set up 'Taker vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania. Just a thought.

I just realized, if SurSer is Team Punk vs Team Cena. Who's team is Kofi gonna be on? That might result in some good storylines.

I think Punk is coming closer and closer to become Cena's best rival. We know it's Edge,but it looks like that's going to change soon.

This is how I'd book it...
Cena beats punk at NoC (either barely or by Shenanigans)
Cena Loses to Rock at the Rumble
Punk wins the Rumble (or if a SD guy does Gets the Title Shot at WM via The Elimination Chamber while Cena loses his Rematch to the Rock at EC)
Punk then Does what Cena couldn't do in 2 (or 3) tries and Beats The Rock at Wrestlemania.
Cena/Punk could be a generation defining feud Kind of like Austin/Rock.
Fill in the rest of the PPVs with multi man matches or Reward shots for upper Mids to lose.

Did the stretch between Raw Roulette and Summerslam just fly right over? They were the hottest angle in the industry. There is a ton of potential with repeating that again. He cut some of the best promos in his career including the verbal joust against Vince McMahon the week after Punk was fired. Now that CM Punk is really, Kayfabe wise, on a competitive level with Cena after two tough reigns as WWE Champion. There is an interesting spin on the situation. |
