Ric noted in the Wrestlemania 28 Rock/Cena thread. Rock mentioned on Twitter that when Cena hit the flying ass drop it tore Rock's right hamstring. Props to Rock then. Shows he truly is willing to put his body on the line for WWE.

Mad props to Rock for finishing the match. How did he tear a hamstring and nobody found out about it? That is a damn good question.

I honestly couldn't tell he was hurt.
Unlike, say Triple H, when he gets hurt, you know it. I'm referencing his quad injuries and am in no way trying to start a Triple H bashing thread.

Yeah if you watch how Cena lands on him, Rocks leg just folds up. I dont see how Cena misjudged the landing that bad.
Also props to rock, I pulled my hammy during HS FB and that was bad, can't imagine a tear. (also tore my quad as well)

I always admire when someone finishes a match while injured, even though its massively risky.

I think it is down to Rock that he got hurt. All Cena can do it try be in the best position. Cena did seem to catch Rock's back more than his neck, but I think Rock just didn't know how to sell that move properly. Because Rock's legs were so far spread he couldn't drop to his knees so easily without hurting himself. I think it's a case of ring rust and being out of practice in big time matches.

I did think that was a weirdly crappy sell by Rock standards. Even if his sells make no sense or are terrible, he still bounces around the place like Ziggler in a bouncy castle.

Cena was lucky not to blow out his own left knee on that move, it kind of throttled in a weird way when it hit the mat but it didn't give. That's a lot of impact on landing on his foot there.

Surprised he didn't show it as that sounds pretty painful.

Quad is a bigger injury than a hamstring. Plus it's hard not to show any pain and agony on any injury period. Also I think The Rock may have went to his own doctor rather than one of the WWE doctors. Thats why nobody found out. This could explain why The Rock is wrestling at The Rumble not at SummerSlam.

Looking at the gif, as small as it is, I don't think his legs being spread out had anything to do with it. I think when Cena hit his head, Rock's body was forced down and that stretched the muscles too far. Most hamstrings are too tight in the first place, and it's worse when you're very muscular. Decreasing the angle between your torso and your leg that fast is likely to strain or tear it.
Having his legs closer together wouldn't have helped that. The real problem is that he didn't drop to his knees, and his legs weren't so far apart that he couldn't do that. It seems more like a timing issue than anything else.

I always thought it was kinda odd rock didn't do a kip up at the finish, just got up real quick for the rock bottom....maybe thats why...?

People have been injured without everyone finding out before, and it'll happen again. I don't see why it's so hard to believe that a part-time wrestler in a big match wouldn't be able to keep an injury secret when he doesn't have to wrestle again for nearly a year.
It all depends on the severity of the injury and how much he tore it. A total tear away probably would have made it near impossible to continue, but a minor one, combined with testosterone and adrenaline, would have probably allowed him to finish the match without too much being obvious. Ego, image worry, and maybe concerns about his immediate movie future probably had him motivated ot keep it under wraps. If the injury wasn't severe, he could probably move around with pain, but hide it well enough.
WWE wouldn't be quick to expose it since they don't need to (and probably had a vested interest in not doing so), and doctors are required by law to not do so. So unless he blabbed to the locker room and one of them called up the dirt sheet writers, it's understandable that it wasn't circulating the news sites.

How did he tear a hamstring and nobody found out about it? this. i dont believe it for a second Partial Tears are vastly different than full on "OFF THE BONE BAH GAWD", I'm guessing it's a partial. Full tear and you could have probably seen his leg change shape and he wouldn't be able to even stand. Between the moment, the adrenalin, his professional experience... doesn't surprise me. Him grabbing his leg and quitting would have killed the match and been one of the most disappointing finishes ever.
