Finally saw Nintendo's presser and...... And they started out so damn great, too. Pikmin 3, Arkham City, Scribblenauts, and New Super Mario Bros. U was a great start off, and everything was going fine......until Wii Fit U. That was the exact point that the presser took a turn for the worse. It is funny, for a system supposed to be aimed at "core" gamers, they showed the most casual games at any of the pressers, Microsoft aside, of course. I have to give Nintendo a C+. They started off great, and the few 3DS games they showed looked great, but then they went all casual on us and that really dropped the score. Especially since they ended the show with Nintendoland. While it does look great, that is not the kind of thing you end the show on. It would be like if Sony ended with Wonderbook or Microsoft ended with SmartGlass. That's really the real reason for the C+. It would've been a B-, because of how strong they started, but they ended with a complete and total whimper, imo.

Someone mind summing up the basics of Nintendo's show? All I really care about. - Pikmin 3 announced. Will have new characters and Pikmin. - 2 tablet controllers playable at once - New Super Mario Bros U. Features winged suit and baby yoshis. - Scribblenauts Unlimited for WiiU and 3DS. Will have a feature where you can create your own items. - Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition announced. Will have armored suits for Batman and Catwoman exclusive to the WiiU. - Mass Effect 3 announced for the system. Will be launch day title. - Wii Fit U announced. Will have more exercises and pedometer that can link up with the tablet. - NSMB2 shown off for the 3DS. Will feature many items that will turn stuff into gold coins. - Paper Mario Sticker Star for 3DS announced. Has you collecting stickers to be used in battle. - Luigi's Mansion 2 is now subtitled Dark Moon. - Sing announced for WiiU. It's basically Kareoke with one person being the singer/performer and the other 4 being dancers. - NintendoLand announced. Basically a minigame-filled game. And I think thats about it.

Oh.....god. That's a horrible recharge time to playing time ratio. It almost takes as long to charge as you'll get playing time out of it on full brightness. I might as well just keep the damned thing plugged in to the charger. Or, if I do get a Wii U, I'll just get a Pro Controller and use that most of the time and only use the tablet controller when playing same room multiplayer.

Ubisoft also showed off a bit of what you can do in ZombiU, and they showed off gameplay for TT Games's Lego City Undercover, which looks like a Lego GTA game, minus the sex, violence, and drugs.

Outside of the commercial not really selling it well, what's so wrong with Wii Fit U as a product?

Reading the comments on Gamespot live stream is cringe worthy.

Actually, Wii Fit U looked pretty interesting even if it's pretty much a fresh coat of paint. Of course, they better be re-selling the balance board with the damn thing.

Outside of the commercial not really selling it well, what's so wrong with Wii Fit U as a product? Nothing, just, not the kind of game you show off at the press conference meant to sell "hardcore" gamers on a system that Nintendo themselves said was aimed at "hardcore" gamers. That means don't show casual games/limit the amount of casual games shown. In other words, Wii Fit U just wasn't the kind of game they needed to show today. What they did need to show was more of the games they showed in that brief montage of Wii U games. And I mean in non-montage form.

Ugh, biggest disappointment for me in that is another New Super Mario Bros. game. I enjoy them a lot, but they have one coming out three months before the Wii-U one - I'd so much rather have another game in the vain of Galaxy, especially since 3D Land was a huge disappointment.

E3 press conferences and E3 in general are not for hardcore gamers, despite what everyone says.

Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus had problems. Like they never let you keep up the workout making it useless When I regularly used it Wii Fit got me from over 320 pounds to 270. So I wouldn't exactly say it's useless.
