The Orioles finish off their sweep of the Red Sox in a 17-inning CRAZY game with a position player getting the win. And now we have the Nationals as the Sunday Night game of the week. Crazy times we are living in the MLB's. Previous thread

"Is Darnell McDonald getting released?" needs to become the new "Is Cody Rhodes getting released?"
Only the Red Sox provide some payoff by releasing Darnell McDonald.
Who should be released.

I honestly thought I was watching the replay of the game and then realized it was the 13th inning. Crazy game and they have to go around and play the Rangers tomorrow.

Chris Davis is the 1st AL position player to earn a win since Rocky Colavito of the 1968 Yankees.
On the other hand, Adrian Gonzalez is the 1st AL cleanup hitter to go 0-8 in game since Andre Thornton of the 1984 Indians.

Adrian Gonzalez is absolutely lost at the plate right now. He needs a day off to try and get his head on straight.

I caught the last couple of innings of the Orioles/Sox game and it was fun. I was hoping they'd play even longer.

Adrian Gonzalez needs to pull his head out of his ass.
Look, I get that it's "God's will" that Adrian is 6-for-28 since last Saturday, but what he did, or better yet, what he didn't do today, was embarrassing. This guy is making over $20 million to be the best hitter in the Red Sox lineup, and the way he's handling himself at the plate right now, he wouldn't be the best hitter in the Paw Sox lineup.
He's just another frustrating piece in a maddening puzzle of go-nowhere, do-nothing players. Thank heavens for Will Middlebrooks.

Jayson Werth's got a broken left wrist. So it is possible for that offense to get worse. He was actually bouncing back nicely after a rough 2011. Six weeks without him pretty much guarantees that Harper is here to stay if he wasn't before.

The MRI results for Ruben Tejada are "not good" and he is expected to go on the DL. Valdespin will be back up and be the shortstop I suppose (he's more of a second baseman).

I mean, did you SEE that douche's hair? I'm surprised someone didn't do it sooner. :-p I didn't agree with that either - If you want to show a guy up, there's probably a more effective way of doing it - say, making him look foolish at the plate. That being said, umps were giving Harper damn near all the calls this weekend (and were just in general horrible) so it wouldn't surprise me if Cole was just fed up with him at that point.

Ted Berg on twitter sums up Cole Hamels in a nutshell
@ogtedberg Old-school tough guy C. Hamels listens to Lifehouse, loves Twilight, and carries his dog in a bag.
