What do you guys think about this game? I randomly decided to play it on my buddy's modded X-Box and I fell in love with it. I haven't beaten it yet but I love what I have played. I'm surprised I had never heard about this game before. It's pretty deep for a 2D sidescroller and even has some moderate RPG elements including a mode-6 style overworld. Anybody else played this? It kicks ass!

It's a great game, albeit frustratingly hard at points. I really should have finished it up.

Oh yea, it's hard as balls at certain points. But that's part of why I like it so much though. It doesn't feel unfair, just very challenging.

One I don't have but have always wanted to try.
Money's been tight lately though. Got more important things to take care off.

I think it was underrated.

True story, I played this when I was younger and for whatever reason, I thought the name was "Demon Quest", so when I decided to track it down later, it took me 2 f***ing years to realize my dumb error. It's a pretty good game though, like Fsin said...it can be difficult at times.

Yeah no kidding regarding the difficulty - the beginning part where you fight that decomposing dragon pissed me off to no end as a kid because there wasn't any info on the screen, so I had no clue how close I was to dying or the dragon. Probably the shortest time into a game I just gave up. Glad I picked it up again as I got older because I got a whooooole lot further after that point.

I love that opening fight. It's like you just know you're in for a crazy ass game when the very first thing you do is fight a giant dragon.

Pretty gorgeous game for its time, but I doubt I have the reflexes for it.

I'd also say you should find Gargoyle's Quest for the Game Boy, or Gargoyle's Quest 2 for the NES, which were the predecessors to this game.

The Gameboy game is awesome. I'd argue it's one of the best games on the system. (My ringtone for my phone is the boss theme)
I now have Demon's Crest but yet to truly get going with it (ah so much to do, so little free time.)

I just usually operate under the assumption the 90% of the OG GB titles are horrid. Still, I need to beat Demon's Crest first.
