I'll point at the Anderson botch as where the show went south. Before then, it was great.

This is seriously the absolute last time I get emotionally invested in a wrestler being pushed. How could they mess this up? How?

I know im gonna get crapped on for this......... but I kinda agree with Angle winning. Roode is lacking something. I was just watching and was like he just doesnt seem like a guy who should be the top dog just yet. When did he become a submission master all of a sudden?? How many times did he do the crossface in that match?? I dunno nothing against Roode but something just isnt there thats clicking with me.

In defense of TNA...nah there's really no defending TNA on this one lol There's really not. Hell, I'm kind of interested to see if a White Knight Rises on this one. Because I can't even think of a rational defense for this, irrespective of where they might be headed. I don't have to take a "wait and see" approach here. Seriously, f*** those guys. They need to earn my benefit of the doubt with good booking before I give it to them.

Hogan cleared the ring post match as a face. Tazz sold the "timing" of Hogan's expert stand-in-one-place-and-punch tactics.

Also it's not like he had to have a long run with the belt, just having the build to him winning the title then doing so would basically have been enough, even if he dropped the belt 2 ppvs from now.

Kurt can't keep doing this. His "epic matches" are becoming cliff notes of his actual epic matches of the past. Non-stop Germans, Moonsaults, Angleslams & Locks.
Plus, his body is held by duct tape so they have to stop the match short (complete with the dreaded "X"). The main event at their biggest show of the year.
I love Kurt but come on man...you can't depend on him anymore. Not his fault...it's his body. The same body that's been telling him to slow down since 2003.

I agree that at times this push felt very forced, but if they're going to actually commit to the guy, then truly commit. After pushing him this hard, they shouldn't have pulled a bait and switch on all the people that were actually digging his rise to the top.

Y'know? When WWE comes knocking, Roode should take the offer.

It TNA's "Wrestlemania" meaning the situation demands for either a world title change, or a big game changer at least.
That sort of just... fizzled out

He may not be the guy, that's totally fair; but if that's the case, why book him in the main event in the first place?

The conspiracy theorist in me...Hogan's match goes long. Angle all of a sudden has a mysterious quad injury which took some speed out of the match and made Roode look worse for not beating him. I feel like there's some gamesmanship here to bury Roode. It all feels like a big political battle, too many cooks in the kitchen and no one can decide what to make.

These are the kind of things that cause people to make fun of Impact, but I don't think they realize it.

Plus, if he'd lost in a hard fought battle; people would be angry, but not like this.
Even with the whole 'he got screwed thing' Taz was trying to push at the end of the show, he looked like an utter chump that couldn't beat a one-legged Angle.

Roode is good at what he does, but for me, i'm not sure i'd buy a ticket to see Roode headline a PPV yet. I don't see him as a world champion for now. Somewhere down the road maybe, but just not at this time. Like i said, he's good in the ring, but i don't know....
