You know, no matter how much of douche he was back in the day and probably still is, it's pretty sad seeing him and so many others fall this far. I liked it when he said when he put a shotgun to his ex-wife's head he didn't mean it because there were no shells inside! Yeah, good one Tom. :/

So Chris Benoit wasn't only copying Dynamite inside the ring, he also followed his footsteps outside of it.
I'll see myself out.

He resented (and likely still does) DBS all those years....but look who's still above ground.
Granted it's in a chair but at least he ain't dead.
He did it to himself. No sympathy from me.

From what I've heard, Dynamite has no regrets. I did wonder for years why he didn't return with Davy Boy in 92 and reform the Bulldogs.

From what I've heard, Dynamite has no regrets. I did wonder for years why he didn't return with Davy Boy in 92 and reform the Bulldogs. According to his book, he and Davey walked out because he, or they, felt that the WWF was screweing with the Bulldogs. After the end of some tour the agent was handing the wrestlers plane tickets home, and there were not any left for the Bulldogs. Dynamite felt they were being punished for something they didn't do (a rib probably), and quit, taking Davey with him. Apparently by 1991-2 he was still bitter over this ticket thing.

This is from a Benoit doc, 4 years ago. I can only imagine how bad he looks now, almost half a decade later.
Still, probably the greatest worker to ever live. No matter how much of a bully he was outside of the ring, nobody can deny how amazing he was inside of it.

No matter how much of a bully he was outside of the ring, nobody can deny how amazing he was inside of it. Greatest worker is a very subjective term. He definitely was very athletic and realistic inside that ring. From all the stories I heard, and the fact that he doesn't regret any of his actions, I don't feel sorry for him.

Dynamite's yet another case where his issues run incredibly deep; reading Bret's autobiography, you just get the feeling that there's been something bad inside him for decades, and going into wrestling only made matters worse.

If HALF the stuff I've heard about Dynamite is true, wrestling is a minimal issue in his life. Being a freaking sociopath is by far his bigger issue.

Wrestling wasn't his problem....being Dynamite Kid was his problem.

Such a damn shame to see Dynamite Kid in this mental and physical state. I saw the British Bulldogs live at house shows many times, and let me tell you they were absolutely the best. They were on top of the world at a time of serious competition in the tag team ranks. Seeing where he's at today, it seems that he made many a bad decision and took wrong turns routinely in life.

Honestly, Benoit would probably have had similar physical issues in the future if he were still around.
No sympathy for Dynamite.

If what so many of his contemporaries have said about him are true, he's getting his just desserts.

This is a more recent photo of Dynamite, from around November of last year (from Harry Smith's Facebook): And here's an interview of Harry talking about their meeting:

Eh, he's an a***hole for sure, but probably no more so than any of a number of wrestlers from that era. We have to accept that to some degree as fans. The best of the profession that we're so passionate about usually aren't the best guy. (with modern exceptions like Cena - I actually think Hogan created that new, charitable vision of what wrestlers can be) These aren't teachers, police, firemen - they're idiot pro wrestlers.

Man... dude was a bigger P.O.S. then I even thought... "I wasn't violent, I only made my wife THINK I was gonna blow her brains out". As if somehow that makes it ok.
