I was wondering when compared to WWE and TNA, how much of Puro as a whole, is scripted? I assume feds like Hustle and DDT likely are heavily scripted, but I'm more curious about NOAH, AJPW and NJPW.
Also, does anyone else love Nakamura's weirdo/cocky persona? That and the hair just do it for me.

They work a bit stiffer in some places, but yes, it's just as scripted nowadays.

I'm a bit tired of Nakamura. Yeah, he was cool for a while, but I'm on the Hirooki Goto bandwagon, and seeing anyone else get a title shot just makes me mad now.

There was a period where New Japan was all about scripted MMA worked shoots, but Jado and Gedo who have the book now are WWE fans, so it's essentially more logically booked WWE with better workers.

The New Japan MMA era was horrendous. Thank god Inoki is gone, running his own shitty fed now. Have fun running that show in North Korea next year, lantern jaw!

Inoki almost killed his own fed with his incredibly dim, near-sighted goals and it was only after he was gone that NJPW is slowly reviving itself.

I mean, it got so bad that NOAH was doing better than them, NOAH. That's the company that rides the money train based solely on past names & couldn't figure out what the hell it wanted to do or be.
Hell, even now that Misawa is gone & they're more or less crippled they're still struggling to figure out what they want to do and who they want to be.
Say what you will about the wrestling quality but at least even places like Dragon Gate, HUSTLE, and DDT had/have those figured out.
It's sad because it's an age old story that's been seen in the states repeatedly too. The very man that created NJPW almost became the thing that killed it. Ugh, dark days those were.
Personally I love all of the big four, Tan, Naka, Togi and Goto. Though I wouldn't mind Goto getting some more shine put on him compared to the other three.

I always dug that despite being in competition with each other, all the Japanese promotions could kinda put it all aside and do unified shows while retaining their individuality. I know that stemmed from Baba/Inoki being rivals, but originally friends.

Add me to the Naito bandwagon with NJPW. Barber Yano's fun to watch too. But yeah, puro's still scripted. It tends to be a harder-hitting style, but they have the format where they have tours for a while and then have an extended break, rinse and repeat.

Can somebody please help me understand what is going on in AJPW right now? They seem to be a mix of talents from several feds at the moment.

They've got a good angle going where all four of their belts are held by outsiders. Three of them are awesome. Sorry, Dark Ozz and Dark Cuevo...

To be fair to NOAH, its hard to make new stars at 3am in the morning on TV. Or with no TV at all, nowadays.
