I'm not one to go with the crowd but Punk/Cena was easily match of the year. I watched it on the PPV replay without knowing the results and I was absolutely on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Part of me is discrediting Punk/Cena because, in the long run, it didn't mean a single thing. For the moment, however, it was amazing, and it ranks high. Just not #1.

I haven't seen it, but I've heard VERY good things about the dog collar match between Drake Younger and Scotty Vortekz during their CZW feud from 2011.

(no particular order)
Punk vs. Cena. Amazing moment that had me literally standing and yelling. once for the first time in years it felt like anything could truly happen in the WWE. I want to say that bringing Punk back right after and the terrible booking that followed ruined some of the special-ness of the match, but since putting the belt back on Punk last month everything seems to be right.
Davey vs. Eddie: Yes I know it was really stiff, Yes I know it had a bajillion kickouts, and yes I know went over 30 minutes but it was still a great match with a good story. While Its hard to compare the in ring action between this and Punk vs Cena, I think that the post match moment of Davey with the belt in tears talking about his family is just as powerful as a moment as Punk blowing vince a goodbye kiss, jumping in the audience, and running off with the belt.
El Generico, Eddie Edwards, and WGTT vs. The Briscos and House of Truth: This might be cheating since I saw this live last week and it won't be avalible on DVD till 2012 but it truly is an amazing match. It goes 1 hour and 20 minutes and 33 seconds but unlike other long matches in ROH this one had a 2 hour time limit so we knew right from the start it was gonna last a while. As a result the fans in attendance were on their feet for the majority of the time. It has great wrestling, insane brawling, actual selling, and some good stories in the match like WGTT trying to get their hands on the birscos and Edwards and Generico both playing the baby face in peril at separate parts of the match. I'd go on a limb and say this is arguably in the top 10 ROH matches of all time. The match is gonna be clipped for TV in January but I'd recommend buying the DVD and watching the whole thing.

John Cena vs. CM Punk at Money in the Bank and Undertaker vs. Triple H at WrestleMania were the two matches this year that felt truly epic. There were a bunch of good matches this year (WWE in particular might have had their best year from an in-ring standpoint since 2000/01/02) but those are the ones I will still remember years from now.

I'll start this off by mentioning that I only watch WWE, can't afford to see PPVs and due to a college schedule I miss most of the shows.
All of that spiel out of the way, my match of the year would have been Daniel Bryan Vs. Dolph Ziggler from earlier in the year on Raw. I haven't been that glued to the TV while watching wrestling since I was a kid.

I haven't seen a lot of the top matches this year, but of what I have seen, my favorite was definitely Cena vs Punk at MITB. Some other stuff I really, really liked was Kota Ibushi vs Rysuske Taguchi from the BOSJ final, Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Hirooki Goto, Hirooki Goto vs Shinsuke Nakamura from the G1 Climax, Undertaker vs Triple H at WM, and the Smackdown Elimination Chamber.
