I was looking up early TNA videos last night and watched Syxx vs. AJ Styles for the X-Division title. AJ was a heel and had a manager named Mortimer Plumtree. I watched early TNA stuff but not quite as early as this match was. I had never seen him before but he seemed kind of talented. He did commentary during the match and was quite entertaining. But...it's just such a weird pairing of him and AJ. So my question is, am I the only one that didn't know who this guy was? Whatever happened to him?

wasn't he involved with Ace Steel as well? Yeah. I remember he did a number of the day by day operations for TNA before leaving the company after a political battle between Jerry Jarrett and Russo.

He was from Minneapolis, great manager. I remember he cut a promo about wanting a Fresca so we ran to the store and bought him some. I believe he came back to Minnesota to be near his kid.

First time I saw him was while he was managing Northern Premier Wrestling Champion "The Brentwood Badboy" J.B. Trask back in, I believe, 1997. Dude was a heat magnet. Greatly underrated indy manager.

It's a shame he retired. He seemed like a good manager.

I liked Mortimer Plumtree. I thought he was a great manager, and I thought he was funny. His voice sounds very similar to Eric Bischoff to me.

He was the lead heel manager for St. Paul Championship Wrestling and Steel Domain Wrestling, where guys like CM Punk and Colt Cabana first built their names, before TNA picked him up.
