Anyone play this? It's a WWE-licensed role playing tabletop game (ala D&D) released in 2005 but it never took off so the creators didn't support it and the book has gone out of print. However, one of my gaming friends just got a copy of the book and we've been making characters in preparation for a game.
I just want to know if anyone on FAN has actually played this game and how well it plays.

Sounds cool. Make sure to let us know how the game went.

A WWE tabletop RPG? That sounds hilariously awesome. I'm not surprised it didn't take off though, I don't imagine there would be much overlap between classic gamers and wrestling fans.

I own it bit I've never played. I simply couldn't pass up a Pro Wrestling RPG, and the funny thing is that it's not the only one out there. There is also Lucha Libre HERO and Zombie Smackdown, a supplement for All Flesh Must Be Eaten.

There's also Wild World Wrestling, which kinda evolved from KYR. It's pretty cheap and we played it a few times. The System is kinda meh, but things like inventing your characters, cutting promos and playing their entrance themes are good fun.

Believe me, I wanted to get Know Your Role, but the FLGS owner where I lived hated wrestling, so he refused to buy anything wrestling-related.

Kind of reminds me of Champions of the Galaxy...I swear that was in all the apter mags back in the day and I used to send in ridiculous make ups of Warrior, Hogan, and Savage...

I have it, along with the WWF RPG that was produced in the mid-90s. I prefer the older one, it plays a little better.
I also have all the Luchador: Way of the Mask books. Essentially an RPG system based on the Lucha libre films, but with supplements for Japanese, US and Canadian wrestlers.

I'm having trouble finding a PDF of the book online so the next time I do some online shopping, I may just spring for the book itself. It's out of print but some Amazon stores have it for like $7 and I even saw one gaming store selling it for $4.
Rolling up my first character gave me great Charisma, so-so Strength, Dexterity and Constitution and bad Intelligence and Wisdom. So I decided to make him a super-suave heel who's capable in the ring but not very smart. You then go from there, deciding his weight, character class and training background which will give him more feats and such. My guy barely cracked the Heavyweight scale at 223 so I don't think I got any bonuses from that. But I have a Savvy character class with an Entertainment training background. I'm not sure what to name him or what his gimmick would be, though. I'm thinking "sleazy Italian".
Though hanging out with my friend and coming up with character concepts, I did come up with a few cool gimmicks like "OCD/Germaphobic" Wrestler or "Evil Russian who still thinks the Cold War is going on and confused as to why people are indifferent to him now" Wrestler.
