Because everyone had decided Brock HAD to win. I thought there was a thread that said Triple H HAD to win. I remember there being a thread that said Triple H HAD to win so Brock SHOULD win... It was a very confusing time.

So Punk can turn face and fight Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. That exact same idea popped into my head last night. But I think it's safe to say that it won't happen.

So is this going to be another case where everyone decides what has to happen and then gets mad if it doesn't? Only if it's not logical. That's how getting mad works. Sometimes things ARE stupid.

Well he was until you made this thread. Everyone knows the company reads threads like these and plans their booking to outswerve us. Now thanks to your overzealous nature we have to watch Punk eat an STF next Sunday. Thanks a lot, pal. I actually thought of this. But I thought I was just being paranoid maaan!

He's definitely carrying the title to the Royal Rumble. WWE isn't going to blatantly ignore the fact that an overwhelming portion of the audience voted that they wanted to see Punk vs. The Rock. It could be something special bringing Heyman closer to Rock again, along with the possibility of Lesnar coming face to face with Rock one more time in the mix.

Yeah,as mentioned before,Rock vs Punk is definitely happening at the Rumble. I don't see Punk losing until then.

Yeah I want him to retain, but the problem is who faces him after Cena? I assume whoever wins there will be a rematch at Hell in a Cell, but if Punk retains at both those events who is a big enough name for him to face at Survivor Series? Maybe Bryan vs Punk vs Cena

I say Punk retains via shenanigans at Night of Champions which will set up Cena vs Punk at Hell in a Cell, Punk retains with help from Lesnar, which could then set up a traditional Survivor Series rules or maybe Punk/Lesnar vs Cena/Triple H at SvS.

My only hope is WWE doesnt drop the ball with this. This time of the year in the WWE is a slow one and this could very well keep fans tuning in and even bring in a few new ones through the weeks.

He's dominated and made Cena look bad at everyturn, I'd be shocked if he makes it out of NoC as champ though I hope he does. To be fair, Punk's made Cena look bad during the build to both MitB and Summerslam last year and he still won. But yeah, I can't really see anywhere they could go if Punk loses. I know that at SOME point, Cena has to win in a match against Punk so he doesn't come off looking weak (though he already does, imo), but with Heyman entering the picture I just can't see any other outcome aside from Punk retaining somehow.

I have Cena winning with Punk getting the title back at a later pay-per-view before the Rumble

I have Cena winning with Punk getting the title back at a later pay-per-view before the Rumble I think all our theories depend on who we think is going to headline Wrestlemania. My original thinking is Cena wins at NoC and keeps it until the rumble. Rock wins it from Cena setting up Wrestlemania between Punk and Rock with Punk going over. The way the storyline had been playing (until the heyman reveal) made me think that's where they were going. The alternative to that could be having Punk go over at NoC, loses at rumble, than Cena/Rock II at Wrestlemania. I'm a little more unclear where Cena goes in that three month span between NoC and the Rumble.

I want him to win mainly cause it's night of champions. Every belt is on the line so likely more than one changes. Ending this long run should be a bigger deal.
Now if no titles change before this match, then we have your winner concluded.

What exactly does that accomplish? Yeah that's the flaw in that theory. I don't think there is anyway WWE would have Cena be beaten by the Rock twice. I have heel punk going over just because we know Rock isn't going to be there next month.

I think the reason they've linked Heyman up with Punk is to keep heat on Punk after he loses to Cena @ NoC, sort of replacing the WWE belt with Paul Heyman, where to after that, who bloody knows.
