I know I'm not the only one who played with their action figures as kids and had leagues and what not. Mine was called NWF (After my first name, which was Nick). Off the top of my head the talent roster over the years was (In chronological order from earliest toys to latest)... * Means they didn't last long because I broke them Ric Flair Marc Mero (1994 Johnny B. Badd) Vader Harlem Heat The Nasty Boys (Split them up at one point and renamed them Spike Knobbs and Dealer Sags....for some reason) Vince McMahon *Sable *Jim Ross Road Dogg Billy Gunn Mankind *Paul Bearer *Big Boss Man Johnny "The Milkman" Raptor (some old clay luchadore figure of a dude named Atlantis) Undertaker Dr. Death Sunny Gangrel *The Rock Kane Rikishi Kurt Angle Triple H Hunter (Another Triple H, whose hair I wound up mutilating trying to make him different from Triple H) All 5 Backstreet Boys (From the Burger King Meals) Major Chip Hazard (From Small Soldiers) Nick Nitro (Also from Small Soldiers) Brick Billy (Some tiny generic guy I bought at the dollar store) Mark Henry (NOD Attire) The Godfather (Really D'Lo Brown, but at the time I couldn't tell who it was supposed to be cause I bought him at a yard sale. The no tattoos should have given it away). *Stone Cold (His hand fell off, so I turned it into a storyline when the nWo, Undertaker and Harlem Heat, attacked him from behind and tore his hand off). X-Pac Edge Christian Matt Hardy John Cena Goldberg Orlando Jordan JBL "Super" Sylvan (Kurt Angle's USA Kneepads made him Super for some reason) Rob Conway Ultimo Dragon Chris Benoit (Threw him out..after certain events) Bret Hart Jeff Jarrett Sting Shawn Michaels (The last figure I ever bought, as I never had him and I realized I was getting a little too old to play with figures). There might be a few I'm forgetting (I know there has to be a couple more from my early days I forget, and maybe a few from my later days) There was always the NWF World Championship, then the Intercontinental title was renamed the North American Championship, the European title was the Tiger Championship (IDK why I named it that), which was eventually replaced by the Spinning U.S. Title that came with my Cena. The IC and US titles eventually merged and became the "United States-Continental" Championship. Eventually that was scrapped for the X-Division Championship. Finally of course were the Tag Team titles that were held for the final years almost exclusively by Evolution...which was Goldberg and Vader. Good times. Just sitting here remembering all this makes me really appreciate WWE Universe mode more in the video games.

I don't think I never not had a league. My rings/titles never lasted long, but there were always something of a league. Paul Heyman was my go-to authority figure when I got him.

the BWWF was going strong back from 1997-2003.
Bret Hart Lita Goldberg Scott Hall Sting Mankind Dude Love Hulk Hogan The Rock Stone Cold Undertaker Kane Triple H Jeff Hardy Matt Hardy The Giant Test Chris Jericho Vince McMahon Tajiri John Cena Rey Mysterio Edge
They went under in 2004, but after the purchase of a new ring the show was back on the road in 2005. They then had an inaugural Elimination Chamber match which The Rock won after pinning Chris Jericho. A Few weeks later a road crew lost a chain fence and bulletproof plexiglass in transit between arenas. Then a serious accident occured in a match between Stone Cold and Test. Test basically got thrown into the turnbuckle and it broke. The company would have no turnbuckle matches until they folded in 2006.

Didn't really have a league, but I do remember my first Smackdown:
Rock vs. HHH Stone Cold vs. HHH Tazz vs. HHH
HHH jobbed all three times. ;D
Also D-Von and Mick Foley teamed up for some reason...

I thought I was the smartest guy alive in the spring/summer of '96 (the peak of my WWF Action figure league) as I turned Hogan heel pre BATB by having him side with Rick Rude and Hacksaw at the ultimate heel stable!
I then really got into my old MUSCLE toys and my Papa and I made a huge wooden ring for them (as the original MUSCLE ring really had no room to move in it!)
Ah, memories!!!

I remeber having my main feud between the Undertaker and Shredder for a WCW title belt that i used as my figures world title. The duo of Raphael and Donatello of the ninja turtles were tag team champion feuding with the Bushwhackers, She Ra the womens champion who would defend her title aganst Evil Lynn and April O Neil since they were the only female figures i had as a kid, and the Intercontinentle title was Held by He Man who i always had beat up Hulk Hognan time and time again. Other feuds i rememeber having with figures include the Big Bossman against Wolverine, The Biker Mice from Mars taking on Red and Blue Power Rangers and Stretch Armstong fought the Megazord in the superweight category......i really never had wrestling figures take on other wrestlers much for some reason!

Pretty much any figure I had would be incorporated into my wrestling league. The most notable I remember is using my Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure figures. Billy the Kid shot Greg The Hammer Valentine to win the IC belt, and then they feuded over the IC belt and after Valentine returned (I didn't use him for like a week or so to sell the injury) they also feuded over the time traveling phone booth, where they would go to other dimensions to get new partners to bring into the feud!
I also remember having a years long storyline. My Ax figure broke and needed to be super glued together and he was held together with rubber bands. I kept the rubber bands on for YEARS and he would be a manager mostly for Smash. If he did wrestle, it was in team matches and he didn't last long because I sold it as a horrible back injury. Eventually Smash needed a partner against my Arn Anderson and Ric Flair galoob figures and so Ax accepted even though Smash didnt want him to. I decided to take the rubber bands for the first time in what had to be at least 4 years to see if he could take the beating. When he took a few bumps and didn't break, I was so pumped I made them win the Tag Title and dominate. And he never did break. It was like the Shawn Michaels comeback 7 years early lol

Hey, OP...what do you mean 'played'? Shit, I STILL do.
My current champions/feuds:
I'm having an invasion angle with nothing but tag teams. Midnight Express/Nasty Boys/Freebirds have come in to take over the JACKED tag division I have of Demolition, Strike Force, Los Guerreros, LOD, Powers of Pain and the Killer Bees. There's going to be a unification match that will end with a double pin, causing a tournament to crown Undisputed Champions. Strike Force is slated to win.
World Heavyweight Title is being contested between Dolph Ziggler and Wade Barrett. Barrett has his stable of guys (Orton, Santino in a non-comedy role and Cena) and Ziggler has his (Mr. Perfect, Shelton Benjamin and The Miz. Cena is currently feuding with Perfect over the US Title). This will culminate in my own version of a WarGames match in which Barrett will win.
Also, I have an old-timers division. The Four Horsemen(Flair, Arn, Windham and Ted DiBiase Sr.) are feuding with the MegaPowers(Hogan, Savage, Warrior and Sid Vicious). But a third team is entering the fray, ala Gang Wars. The NEW Nation, consisting of Bad News Brown, Faarooq, Kamala(repainted thanks to a buddy of mine to look more like a gangsta), and Akeem.
I'm pushing BNB as a legit bad ass and eventual World Champion, so his group will probably win out, leading to a battle with Barrett's group, but I'm not sure just yet. Also, Brown has been getting a reputation backstage of being a complainer, so...

back then any action figure i had was in the fed...basically i remember some of my champions.
Stone Cold was my world champion ALOT! Undertaker sometimes challenged him for it but Austin usually went over. It wasnt until Lesnar showed up in action figure form that i took the belt off him for a long time.
Jericho and Raven usually held the Intercontinental Championship quite regularly the title would bounce back and fourth between them.
RVD and Sabu were the tag champs alot, often feuding with the outsiders, and Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley from KISS. I ran a storyline where Ace and Peter turned heel and joined the nWo and helped the outsiders win the belts. The Incredible Hulk and Bane held the tag titles alot, but usually lost the belt when Batman would show up to take out Bane.
I remember i did the nWo thing in my fed. and Sting was the one to end the nWo via murder of Hollywood Hogan....basically i had the giant T-Rex action figure from Jurassic Park that you could feed action figures to. so Sting had his match against hogan at Wrestlemania and if Sting won Hogan got fed to Stings pet T-Rex....Sing won in a few minutes and thus T-Rex had a Hogan dinner. and next thing ya know, Hulk returns in the red and yellow and the nWo was never heard from again.
I do recall The Punisher having quite a few feuds as well, mostly with Flair and the Horsemen.

Yeah I've been doing this for years now, I still do! Let me fill ya in on some of the latest news:
This years War Games match is rumored to be for a World Title
AJ Styles is out on injury for at least a month.
Edge just made his return from injury and has caught the attention of Jeff Jarrett.
United States Champion Randy Orton has accepted the challenge of CM Punk for NOC. The only thing is, it won't be a Submission Match as requested. GM Angle will explain why on RAW.
2012 Royal Rumble winner and former World Champ Jay Lethal has had impressive victories these last few weeks over the likes of Jack Swagger, Enigma and Matt Hardy. Many speculate that he maybe setting his sights on the World Heavyweight Championship soon.
Speaking of the WHC, Super Nova has said he will take on any #1 contender GM Angle wants to throw at him. "I am tired of being overlooked as just another highflying superstar, Its time I show everyone its not all acrobatics and stunts. They want a wrestler with passion and desire and I have proven to be that with each and every monumental victory I've had, I mean look at me, I'm World Champion!...GM Angle can't seem to understand that other wrestlers can be champion, not whoever he hand picks. I'll show him and his #1 Contender!"
Vlad Kozlov has been on a role as ECW Champion after soundly beating Edge at ONS 12. That is until Batista became the #1 contender. After ending a 3 month winning streak, Batista is determined to see the end of his ECW Title reign now. On SmackDown tonight, GM Angle says he will revel the stipulation for their match at NOC.
The Lex Luger/Samoa Joe feud has taken a bloody turn for the worse. Since the attack at SummerFest that left Luger injured, Joe has made it his mission to see the end of the All American. On RAW, Luger came out to address the Universe on his injuries and give an update on his return. This was interrupted by Samoa Joe's theme music. When nothing seemed to come of it, Luger was attacked from behind. Joe took his time, preying on Luger, only to deliver a sickening blow to head with a steel chair! With Luger left laying a bloody mess, Joe let the Universe know it was the beginning of the end of THEIR hero, his zero, Lex Luger. *Director of Talent Jim Ross will speak on rumors of a fine and possible suspension of Samoa Joe following the brutal steel chair attack on RAW.*
Also here's the card for SmackDown tonight:
Jeff Hardy Vs Edge
Rob Gnar Vs The Enigma
Jack Swagger and Jeff Jarrett Vs Randy Orton and CM Punk
Super Nova Vs Christian

Jesus... I had the old school clay-like WCW figures and the plastic WWF ones...
Basically I remember pretty much defacing ALL of them with like black felt tip on their faces because they all joined the ministry...
Barry Windham's figure (who I didn't know who it was so he was Diesel) was my favourite. Flair's WCW figure was also my HHH because his arms where in the best position to do a pedigree. I remember having this one armed Thor figure who was a beast, i liked playing with him because he was really flexible.
I also had two of the Plastic Undertakers with the hats on and painted one of them red to become Kane.
It was almost impossible to have Yokozuna lose because he was so round you couldn't really have anyone pin him without his shoulders being up.
Good times. Then we moved house and someone THREW THEM ALL AWAY!

I don't think my league had a name. The main things I remember where I always had a yearly Royal Rumble with everybody on the roster, which led to weird results. The first one had Taka Michinoku winning, but losing to HHH after Randy Orton (making his debut) cost him the match. I remember if somebody held the #2 belt for more than six months, they would automatically get a world title shot. Also, my long-running feud was Ric Flair vs. Owen Hart for the World Title.

I had so many long running storylines. My brothers and I had tons wrestling action figures between us. It blew my mind when I realized I could buy WCW and ECW guys and have them wrestle WWF guys. I had couple of weird feuds that I put together.
-Marc Mero and Taz were a prominent tag team for a very long time. -Road Dogg got a main event push and had a feud with Bubba Ray Dudley for the World title. -X-Pac won almost every Royal Rumble, despite entering at number one. -Once Bret Hart won every championship at once. I was pissed when Russo stole my idea with Kurt Angle years later. -X-Pac had an underdog angle where he challenge Psycho Sid for the championship. -I think the last action that I ever took as a toy wrestling booker was having Brock Lesnar defeat Lex Luger for the championship in his debut match. I don't remember playing with them anymore after that.

I loved the Hasbro line, and when Jakks took over I discovered customising Hasbros into newer guys - so at times I had the Hart Foundation and a lot of nWo guys from the original line repainted in newer gear, which really gave them a new excitement somehow ;D But it also meant I could mix them in with Kane, DX, The Nation, Austin, etc. I must admit I played with them far longer than I should've done given my age But when my much younger cousins visited, I had an excuse to carry on - cause you know, I had to play with my cousins ;D I ended-up writing pages of booking plans on Word (when I should maybe have been revising a little more for my GCSEs ) to play-out when my cousins visited and I was certain I was writing better stuff than the real WWF at the time (a proper e-fed booker ;D). One of my favourite memories was the reaction of my cousin when I finally gave The Rock the win over Triple H in a number 1 contenders match, meaning he went to SummerSlam to challenge Austin for his first WWF title match - he went nuts jumping around the place he was so happy I still remember a lot of the storylines I booked (seriously I had literally years of booking in that damn Word doc). I especially remember a mental WrestleMania, where I had matches made on the night itself with guys who had already wrestled - I started with the basic WrestleMania X format of disputed Royal Rumble winners challenging the champion in a mini-tournament: Opening match - winner challenges champion in main event: Bret Hart (recently turned face) vs. The Undertaker (heel) WWF Title: Triple H (c) (heel) vs. Hulk Hogan (recently returned, face) Hogan won the title and Bret beat the Taker - setting-up Bret vs. Hogan for the title at the main event of WrestleMania Taker went on a rampage and sent Bret to the hospital, and then battered Anvil backstage while this match happened: The Rock (face) vs. British Bulldog (tweener) Rock wins, he and Bulldog shake hands at the end. Rock goes backstage as Triple H was being interviewed about his title loss - Rock interrupts, challenges Triple H for later that night for his former-champion re-match entitlement. Bulldog finds Anvil and Bret have been battered by Taker - he tracks down Taker, and eventually challenges him for later that night. Number 1 contenders match Triple H vs. The Rock Ends in a double-count-out when they fight it out on the announce table, before Rock finally manages to Rock Bottom Triple H through the table. Bulldog vs. Undertaker Brawl basically, Taker goes over but Bulldog batters Taker so he can't get involved in the title match main event at the end, and setting-up their casket match at Backlash. Main Event WWF Title Match Hulk Hogan (c) vs. Bret Hart Hogan finally puts Bret over: new WWF champion Hogan sulks away at the end, and isn't seen again until SummerSlam when he brings back the nWo to attack defeated former champion Austin, and destroy new champion The Rock. Now the thing is, also on that card I had: Tag Team title - Two matches spaced at different ends of the card, first a tables match and second straight wrestling match The Perfect Team (c) vs. The Dudley Boys (Dudleys surprisingly lose the tables match, but win the wrestling match thanks to a ref bump and a 3D through a table on Mr Perfect - Dudleys end night as champions for the first time) Barb-wire match Terry Funk vs. Kurt Angle Intercontinental title Ladder Match Chris Benoit (c) vs. Kane Chris Jericho vs. Marc Mero (heel) - blow-off to a big soap opera feud involving Sable being chased by Jericho and about a million other matches - basically the whole show in real-life would've lasted about 3 weeks to stage Then I brought in guys from WCW and ECW when those companies ended (naturally I booked a much better invasion than happened IRL) which was extra indulgent as my cousin only knew WWF but damn it I was booking pure gold whether he knew it or not ;D
