He has no comment for now according to his Twitter

So does this mean the end of cops and cheaters on that channel? Because that doesn't exactly scream higher class "modern male".
Honestly I stopped watching shortly before Olivia left. I feel bad for Morgan. As for Sara Underwood she's a hot blonde playboy model with tv experience. The world is in her hands.

SpikeTV should actually buy Attack of the Show. It's probably gonna be dirt cheap by year's end. AOTS and SpikeTV do share an audience. It would make sense to keep the show alive.

I thought that they would all be great on a channel like MTV-24 hours of various hosts doing shifts rather than just an hour of AOTS and X Play

Why can't a pure video gaming channel exist without making it "More geared towards males" the way G4 ended up being? I mean, I was even okay with Ninja Warrior because of how crazy it was, but it just seems odd that a niche channel can't be allowed to exist without messing up what made it popular.

I mean shit, most of the time channels show marathons of shows over and over, yet you can't really have a nice channel hardly

G4 was like falling in love with a beautiful woman with the most amazing eyes... Then she started smoking crack. So she became a crack whore, but those amazing eyes were still there... Then she stabbed out one with a fork. The other, she lost in a fight. Now she's a crack whore with no eyes.

Why paid host and crew to tape segments when you can just run syndicated programs over and over again?

Like I said, a Machimina-like YouTube channel (as well as keeping the website) where you still get to do the stuff you normally do on TV would be the way to go. For AOTS segments, make a daily schedule. Make Monday a segment, Tuesday can be DVDuesday as always, The Loop can be on Wednesday, interview a celebrity on Thursday, etc. Get rid of X-Play entirely and just call it "G4 Games" or something. You can still review and preview games and the sort. Then do original programming once the wheels are a bit dirty.

I know that it's still important to have decent ratings, but with being a non-basic cable channel (especially one that Directv customers don't get), I would think they should've been happy with what they were getting if that were a concern.

Wonder if this new GQ channel would be interested in a wrestling program.

Here's my thing....isn't this more the death of what little legacy Tech TV had left , because hasn't all the original programing that G4 had been canceled for years by now ?

In fact we could say that this is yet another example of how cable television has changed in the face of rising competitors. Cable channels can't really be that "niche" anymore unless it's a broad niche like Comedy Central or Nickelodeon.

I dunno, Spike TV is pretty "niche" and it's been around awhile longer than it should've been. It's kind of depressing though that so many channels embrace this "TV for guys!" mentality when it just doesn't make good television. Not to say Spike isn't successful even with its Star Wars marathons and general lack of anything remotely exciting, but are guys that interested in seeing Cops, Cheaters, and The Man Show (I don't know if G4 still shows that but they did when I had it, so it's fair )? From rumors and stuff, WWE Network was going to be the same way and I don't understand it.

I think all these channels aimed at dudes look at Lifetime and go, "Well, if a channel decidedly aimed at chicks can be successful, why can't a channel decidedly aimed at guys?"

G4 will be turned into...The Esquire Channel. www.ign.com/articles/2012/12/08/g4-is-officially-becoming-the-esquire-channelAlso, I was gonna post this, but I forgot, but Kevin Perieira has a podcast called "Pointless", and recently had both Candace and Sara on it. I'd link it here, but it's VERY NSFW. I believe it's on K-Per's Twitter or on iTunes. Highly recommended. Sara has a story that happened a couple of Thanksgivings ago that is so gross and so vulgar but completely hilarious. Anyways, during said podcast, they mentioned that they're not even filming the final AOTS! live. What a damn kick in the teeth.
