I dunno, Spike TV is pretty "niche" and it's been around awhile longer than it should've been. It's kind of depressing though that so many channels embrace this "TV for guys!" mentality when it just doesn't make good television. Not to say Spike isn't successful even with its Star Wars marathons and general lack of anything remotely exciting, but are guys that interested in seeing Cops, Cheaters, and The Man Show (I don't know if G4 still shows that but they did when I had it, so it's fair )? From rumors and stuff, WWE Network was going to be the same way and I don't understand it. I think all these channels aimed at dudes look at Lifetime and go, "Well, if a channel decidedly aimed at chicks can be successful, why can't a channel decidedly aimed at guys?" There are more networks that reach out for female audiences than there are men, E, Style, Bravo, TLC and even VH1. The other popular networks like USA, TNT, AMC have no obvious slant either way. Even networks like Spike, almost half it's audience in it's "network for me" was women. Shows like Cops and Cheaters got aired over and over because they're cheap to make and such cheap to pay for.

Well if anything, Upscale type of tv would be a nice opposition to the trashy reality genre that is out there

www.aintitcool.com/node/60901April 22nd is the day that G4 gets taken off life support. According to the link, American Ninja Warrior will at least stick around there, and they're going to add repeats of Party Down and Parks and Recreation.

Repeats of Parks and Rec are already an improvement over G4's schedule this time last year.
That's... really sad.

That's not a shot against Parks & Rec, but Party Down is really. that. good.

We are truly seeing a channel that is petering out. they repeated the same 6 or 7 episodes of AOTS for a month and now they replaced that with Quantum Leap.
I was hoping with the name Esquire, it might be classy, but you know what f*** television
