I just recently rewatched the season on netflix, and I was wondering why when Tommy came back as the White Ranger did Zordon automatically make him leader of the team? Wasn't Jason a competent leader? Was there an episode where Jason messes up (not counting the whole green candle going on since Zordon and Alpha absolved him of that issue lol)

Tommy was just such a popular character that they made him the leader, I guess. Plus there was the whole money dispute that led to Jason, Trini and Zack being replaced.
Interesting, considering they were originally going to kill him off, like they did with his Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger counterpart.

Jetman is the Super Sentai series that preceeded the one that gave origin to Power Rangers. In fact, Power Rangers was to be made around Jetman originally but they changed that. Also, Jetman was based on Science Ninja Team Gatchamen/Eagle Riders/G-Force, so yeah, it's a Rangers series based around that

I was just found it funny that he was given the leadership role story rise. BTW I always thought that Adam was an underrated ranger/character. Probably cause I've enjoyed JYB's role as Vash the Stampede and Nero from DMC 4

Yes... and No. Yes, those scenes were filmed, but Jason, Zack, and Trini stopped showing up for work before the ADR work could be done on those episodes. Some quick re-writes and a dub-over later... "Congratulations, Tommy, you are now the leader of The Power Rangers!" Notice that, when morphed, Jason, Zack, and Trini have completely different voices for the eps leading up to the switch off. It's becasue they had to get fill-ins for them since they had quit the show.

That and Jason's dubbed voice, especially in the Power Transfer episode, sounded like he was acting in a Shakespearean play. Must have been the lines in the script.

Even funnier is that when they're forced to show unmorphed footage of the trio, it's all stock footage of them from previous episodes. (Incidentally, did this show ever love using stock footage.)

What makes all this talk when they left funnier is that out of all of them, Jason is the only one to ever return (well, the guy who played Zack did a voice of one of the villains in "Forever Red", but still).

The second season is such a pain to watch. Amongst using footage from both Zyuranger AND Dairanger, plus stock footage/bad dub voices for actors who left the show and the insistence on using the same four shots of Lord Zedd in EVERY episode, THEN never even showing the monsters in American footage...it was a mess.

The dubs on Jason's voice in his final few episodes are so hilariously bad.

I'll forever love the crowning achievement of combining the Ninjazords and the Ultrazord (from Season 1) in Season 3 of MMPR: By literally using the American release toys to accomplish this.

Probably cause I've enjoyed JYB's role as Vash the Stampede and Nero from DMC 4 It's not since it's not like there's a real market over here for Super Sentai or Kamen Rider. It's been fansubbed though and the subs aren't terribly hard to track down. It's generally considered one of the best Super Sentai series, if not THE best, for having a fairly mature and dramatic story. And Gai Yuki aka Black Condor, a gambling, smoking, Scotch drinking, womanizing Real Man who's pretty much just an all around badass and one of the most popular Sentai members in the entire franchise. If you ever want to get into Sentai the most recent series, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, is an anniversary series involving EVERY team that acts as a decent primer for the franchise.
