This thread is to talk about things that a lot of fans either misremember, misinterpret, or simply don't remember when it comes to things in WWE history. You know, those things where a lot of fans seem to think one thing that just isn't true. Not necessarily a big thing or anything important, but anything that a good amount of the fan base seems to remember that didn't happen.
(No this does not mean go and post 2000 Triple H things that "happened").
Like for one, a lot of people seem to think that Jerry Lawler was the first person to use the term "Puppies" when it was actually Road Dogg. Lawler was the one who used it the most and kept it in the minds of people the longest, but he was not the first.

Some people think Christopher Daniels and Carlito's bodyguard Jesus were in the Conquistador outfits at No Mercy 2000 and won the Tag Team title. It was actually Edge and Christian. Daniels and Jesus were only under the masks when E&C needed to be shown with the Conquistadors in backstage skits.

I believe there was something on the internet that said Austin refused to do the job to Lesnar, but wasn't he willing to and just pissed off because of how creative handled it?

Austin didn't think the match should be on a random Raw with no hype or build-up whatsoever. I don't think he had a problem with losing to Lesnar, just not at that point.

That Shawn kicked Marty through the glass window. He did superkick him, but then picked him up by his hair and threw his head through the window. I know I've heard multiple times from fans and even on WWE produced DVDs and their Youtube shows where they say he "kicked" Marty through the window.

Steve Austin's King of the Ring 96 promo led to him being the biggest star in WWF. It wasn't until nearly two years later that he became a mega star.

The InVasion: WCW was actually the face organization up until the week after the Tacoma show, and was actually being cheered by most WWF crowds.
Attributing things to Russo: Russo left in late September of 1999. The Big Show/Bossman storyline didn't happen until a couple of months later. Mae Young gave birth to the hand in early 2000.

D'Lo Brown being fired for what happened to Darren Drozdov. He was still employed for several years after the accident, and he even got a tag team push as a member of Lo-Down with Chaz.

I'm still convinced that Vince came across some discarded notes of Russo and thought they were brilliant.

They never revealed who raised the briefcase at King of the Ring 99. Seriously, how people don't get this is beyond me.

They never revealed who raised the briefcase at King of the Ring 99. Seriously, how people don't get this is beyond me. I wanted to address this a while ago but forgot to. Watching the Raw after KOTR, it is NEVER revealed that Bossman lowered the briefcase. Bossman comes to the ring after being "kicked out of" the Corporate Ministry a week prior and instead of doing something against them, he hugs Vince/Shane. Not once was the briefcase mentioned.

Steve Austin's King of the Ring 96 promo led to him being the biggest star in WWF. It wasn't until nearly two years later that he became a mega star. I remember last year when Punk lost the WWE title to Alberto at Summerslam there were comments like "can you imagine if they treated Austin like this 2 months after he cut his 3:16 promo?" 2 months after his 3:16 promo Austin was in a DARK MATCH at Summerslam! Then when Punk lost to HHH there were comments like "can you imagine if Austin lost to a part-time wrestler just when he was getting hot?" Austin lost CLEAN to Bret Hart in Bret's first match in 8 months at Survivor Series 96. Austin had a lot of breakthrough moments. The 3:16 promo. The Wrestlemania match with Bret. Coming back from the neck injury. Stunning Vince for the first time. But he didn't become a huge star in terms of being able to move ratings and really begin challenging WCW until the stuff with Mike Tyson in early 1998.

While he may not have been able to challenge WCW in ratings in 1997 , He still had an amazing gimmick and was cutting great promos.

Multiple Kanes and Ultimate Warriors I never heard of the multiple Kanes (unless we're talking about the times Undertaker and Triple H put on the mask to mess with somebody's head, and the whole feud with the man now known as "Super Festus"), but the multiple Warriors always bugs the hell out of me. With the exception of the Renegade, who was the stunt-double in WCW, Warrior has always been the artist formerly known as Jim Hellwig. The Texas Tornado never became the Warrior, and there weren't two other Warriors running around doing house shows.

You have no idea how many times I had to debate the fact that there was only ONE Ultimate Warrior, and Undertaker. Some kids just never want to listen...
