Raw comes to us tonight one night removed from Night of Champions in Bridgeport, CT. Two new champions were crowned at the event, but the pivotal match of the night ended in a draw. Now, WWE will switch gears towards Hell in a Cell, which will see several matches determined inside the Devil's Playground.
CM Punk vs. John Cena ended in a draw as Cena German Suplexed Punk off the ropes, pinning both of their shoulders into the mat. No doubt Cena will be looking for a rematch, and Punk will be looking for that all important respect as Punk has now breached the 300 day mark as champion.
Sheamus successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio, and he got his Brogue Kick back as well. However, we know that Del Rio will try to come back for more. Other possible challengers include Randy Orton, who was victorious over Dolph Ziggler, who still holds the blue briefcase. Who will step up to challenge for the Big Gold Belt.
Two new champions were crowned last night. Eve secured the Divas title after Kaitlyn suffered a last minute injury at the hands ofAces and Eights a masked attacker. Team Friendship also secured the WWE Tag Team titles, in spite of their...differences. You know the former champions are going to want rematches. Both titles also have former #1 contenders that had their title matches taken away in Kaitlyn and the Prime Time Players, so there could be competition in those regards as well.
Finally, Antonio Cesaro and The Miz retained the midcard titles in matches that both thought were unfair. Cesaro didn't know who his opponent would be, and Miz had three different opponents. Both will likely gloat at some point in time.
All this and more at 8 PM Eastern time, for three hours!
