Yeah, I see krazyeman already started a thread, but I'm hoping the admins don't mind if I put in my two cents also.
Bare with me, though, there may be a few things I leave out. Not much, just small stuff.
Okay, got to the arena for SD, got inside, sat at our seats just off the floor (We were pretty close, like near the East Gate entrance) and after maybe five minutes of looking around, my brother and his friend noticed a Steel Cage hanging above the ring. To me, this was a shock, because the Scranton/Wileks-Barre area has NEVER had a Steel Cage match EVER. (Musta been lucky, I guess. XD)
Anyway, Chimel steps into the ring and announces the Velocity taping'll start soon. The first match was a dark match with Sylvan against a jobber. The next was a tag mtach with two jobbers (A bald guy and a dude that was even scrawniers than Nunzio) against the Dicks. Basically, I just up and left after I saw them enter, and bought an Eddie Guerrero shirt. In the time it took me to do that, the match ended with the Dicks doing a leg drop while one had the guy resting on his knee. Then Bobby Lashley has a squash match against a guy named Havoc (Whom I have dubbed Fatt Hardy.) Afterwards, Nunzio and Vito took on Psicosis and Super Crazy, the Mexicools winning. And it looks like the main event for Velocity this week is the return of Jamie Noble against Scotty 2 Hotty. Guess who won. (HINT: The guy that doesn't do the Worm..)
Tazz's music plays as he and Cole enter and head to the announce table. Almost makes me wish Tazz was actually gonna wrestle...
So after a while, the SD tapins started. Teddy Long came out to welcome us with a Happy New Year, along with the matches at hand. First, a Falls Count Anywhere match between Jibble and Matt Hardy. Then, the 6th match in the Best of Seven series for the US title (Benoit vs. Orton). And the main event, Batista & Rey vs. MNM in a rematch for the Tag Team titles...in a STEEL CAGE. Teddy gives us the Holla Holla Holla and moves off.
The show started with a replay of Melina's press conference *eyeroll* and the tag match. Smackdown theme plays. JBL and his assistant Jillian Guaca Molie ride out in the limo. JBL surprised me, though, as he then climbed over the barricade and near our section. JIBBLE WAS ONE SECTION TO MY RIGHT, HIS LEFT, YOUR RIGHT WATCHING IT ON TV. He discusses something about Wrestling God and then Matt Hardy comes out. I can't remember all the details, except a ladder was involved, and Matt lost when Jibble pinned him on the hood of his limousine. Boogey's music plays. Worms. JBL and Jillain try to get out of the way, but Boogey sticks worms down her skirt. (XD)
I think after that Mark "Sexual Chocolate" Henry came out and squashed three jobbers with Melina at his side. Afterwards, Michael Cole stepped into the ring and asked Melina about her lawsuit. Um, I have no idea what she said, I got bored after I saw the sob on her face. Oy...
Hm, I think next came a promo between Booker and Randy. Then, after that, I heard a name that I was unsure of hearing.
MISTEEEEEEEEEEEER KENNEDYYYYYYYYY!
Yep, it was none oth-
KENNEDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
...Um...anyway...Ken Kennedy came back, made his announcement via his trademark mic, then sat on commentary during the Cruiserweight title match between Kid Kash and Juventud. You'd have thought after last week Kash'd be facing Funaki after last week. But in any case, Mr. I'm Not Kid Rock won.
I went off to bu more merchandise, and a promo involving a Batista press conference occurred. But I missed it. Blah.
The Benoit/Orton match came next. Sharmell was eliminated early before she used the crutch on Benoit as Booker was on commentary again. A good match, but then Orlando Jordan had to interfere.Thankfully, Benoit got the win via DQ. FUnny story about OJ, though. When we saw him run out, at first we thought he was an arena employee hurrying because a fan was in an emergency situation. Goes to show how WWE can ruin someone, huh? XD
Oh, and some new team of Simon Dean's known as the Gymini debuted. they look like two Goldbergs sans mustache or the Bashems on steroids.
Hm...after that, I think they ran a Lashley promo to promote the guy on being in the Royal Rumble. Then the cage lowered. My thoughts are, the cage isn't as big as I thought it was on TV (And they REALLY overexaggerate it's size in the WWE games, personally.) Stuff happened with MNM doing almost everything, Rey getting an occasional spot, and Batista...was being Batista. On the bright side, at least this time around I knew when the Machine Gun Jig was gonna happen, since last time when he was on Raw, the pyroes went off in a dark match and they were never done before. In any case, eventually the father of Mae Young's hand came out and tried to break down the door. The funny thing is that Henry was taking so long with breaking it down that everyone was unconscious. Batista could have pinned ANYONE in the time it took for Henry to enter. Eventually, he tore the door down, took it in with him, massacred Batista and Rey, and MNM got the win. After the loss, though, Batista and Rey eventually got up, the crowd cheered them, they did some posing for the crowd, and even held up fan signs for Eddie Guerrero. (Vuva La Raza.)
It wasn't a bad show, but for a few parts it seemed somewhat of a lackluster. We'll see how it plays out on TV. I'm just praying at least ONE sign got on the air.
