Just to clarify, I'm not trying to guilt trip people. That said, writing does in fact seem to be intimidating. This gives me the idea of a "Writer's Workshop" thread where writers can freely discuss the promos, matches, and angles with each other and with the curtain peeled back. Such a thread would obviously imply spoilers, butat least writers have somewhere to turn to for help and advice. Furthermore, perhaps a manifesto of sorts should be written that gives a concise idea of what it is to be a member. It should present the facts of commitment, what you get out of it is what you put into it, you win some, you lose some, you won't be a champ right away, etc. Either I could write out or sometime else writes it and I check over it before posting it in the first post. That's actually a good idea, it'd definitely build up my confidence because by the looks of things I have a lot more free time than anyone else here and why everyone in the US/CA area is sleeping, I'd be awake. I could contribute a lot more than what I'm doing right now.

Well, I have decided that there will now be a Writers' Workshop thread. Enjoy, and let's hope it leads to greater productivity. Knailsic, you will get the TV Title match result ASAP. The Thanksgiving holiday is upon us in the States, and that includes me. Anyone want a crack at the Four Corners match?

So, I thought about it, and I have decided that I will post a "Niteraw Clip Show" of sorts. Let's just move past this Thanksgiving weekend and get to the next show. Any match writing for this week's Niteraw will only slow us down.
I'll post a tentative card soon and I want to send it tomorrow.

As long as my promo gets posted that's a good idea BRB. Honestly, I feel like we take advantage of the week off after supershows too much as a whole. Everyone seems to be slower writing matches. After the supershow for like a month.

[shadow=yellow,left,300]HEATZ![/shadow] ... JK: Welcome back to Niteraw everyone! It's finally time for the celebration!TH: One year ago on Thanksgiving, Aaron Enigma defeated Gus Richlen to win the Inter-Forum title, since then he has gone on to hold it for a combined 10 and a half months over the year. JK: He would've held it the whole year if it wasn't stripped from him by Brawler and had Square cash in a briefcase.TH: But those things did happen, King!JK: It doesn't matter Tim, what matters is that Aaron Enigma is the greatest Inter-Forum champion of all time!*The lights go out as the music plays. A video plays on the Titantron showing Aaron winning the belt from Gus. The video then plays every single Inter-Forum title match Aaron was in since that moment, culminating in Night of the Wrestling Zombie's match where he beat Malevolence. After the movie ends, the words Above Average show on the screen. The words are suddenly crossed out as the name Aaron Enigma shows up on the screen. The music fades.* *The music starts as Aaron Enigma bursts onto the entrance ramp. Confetti begins raining down from the rafters as he walks to the ring with a huge smile on his face. He jumps in the ring and spins around, showing off for the crowd.* MM: Ladies and gentleman, please welcome, the Inter-Forum champion, The Head Detective...AARON ENIGMA!!!*The crowd goes crazy as Aaron grabs a mic and he tries to calm them down while shaking the confetti off his head before speaking.* Aaron: One year ago today, a new chapter was written in the history books! I became the Inter-Forum champion, and since then, I have had my way with any competitor in my path. Smokin' Vokoun, Evil M, Bull Ant, Square, Brian Alexander, Malevolence, Jack Cain...all have fallen before me. I have beaten everyone management has thrown at me for a year! Do you understand what this accomplishment means to me? I have become the greatest Inter-Forum champion in the history of this company!!!
I'd like to thank some people that have helped me get to where I am today. First, I'd like to thank Motor-Colt and Koda, for realizing that I had talent and I had the drive to be in the spotlight. Without them, who knows where I would be right now. Sure I could've climbed that ladder by myself eventually, but back then, I pushed myself through the glass ceiling and I've never looked back.
Next I'd like to thank The Fallen collectively. I know I may not have agreed with some of the things they wanted to do, but I can't deny they have helped my career. Seth, you gave me the first title shot at the Championship of Honor, and that solidified my place at the top of the company. Square, we've fought each other multiple times, and you always gave me a nice free win since you couldn't beat me if you had the power of the gods. Ryan Blood, I'd like to thank you for an amazing match that proved that I can be Heavyweight champion.
I would like to thank Above Average, the former greatest Inter-Forum champion of all-time. We were briefly teammates as a part of The Story. During that time, you taught me a lot, and one day I said I would be better than you, and that time has come!
Next I'd like to thank M.O.P, Jonathan Michaels, and the rest of the Equalizers. You guys were some of the best friends I've had, and it's a shame that none of us could truly get on the same page. I guess we all had our own hidden agendas. Gus I thank you for being the one that held the Inter-Forum title, making it a nice easy match for me to win. Michaels, you finally climbed to the top. You are the King of the Hill. It's a shame that I'm going to be the one that dethrones you inside Thunderdome. *The crowd cheers again as Aaron pauses before speaking again.* Aaron: At Gookermania, I told FAWA management, as well as the FAWA Galaxy, that was I sick of being underestimated. I was sick of being overlooked and passed up for title opportunities. Sure I was Inter-Forum champion, still am...but where was it leading me? What was all this going to accomplish in the long run.So I complained, and I complained fairly. I wasn't whining like of the members on this roster claimed. Members that are clearly jealous of my success I might add. I stated my opinion, but I used facts to back it up. It is a fact that I sell the most merchandise, hell from where I stand all I can see is Head Detective shirts, hats and magnifying glasses in the crowd. It is also a fact that I have arguably been the best wrestler in the company over the last year.Management chose to ignore these facts, so I said that I would win all the titles. I made a proclamation that I could successfully hold and defend all the titles at once. Looking back, that may have been a bit ambitious, but it got my point across didn't it? My point was that I wasn't satisfied with just being Inter-Forum champion. I wanted more, I craved more, I NEEDED MORE!!!
I know it's selfish, I've admitted that to everyone already. It's selfish of me to want everything. People say that you should appreciate what you have, but I've had this title a year, and where has it gotten me? Have I faced better competition? No I haven't. I could argue my level of competition has decreased over the year. I mean my last title match was against someone who was completely new. Not to mention the ONLY reason he got the match was because he illegally choked me and the ref called for the bell.
I have been getting screwed for the last few months, so I've decided to take matters into my own hands. So last month I want to the Corporate offices of FAWA to talk to management directly. While I was there, I demanded a title match for the Heavyweight title. They agreed, but said that I should have to give up my Inter-Forum title to get it. I refused immediately, since I shouldn't have to give up my title to get a shot at the Heavyweight title. In my eyes I deserve the title shot and have earned it with my performance over the last year.
I made them a counteroffer though. A counteroffer that was accepted and approved. A counteroffer that I am going to reveal to you right now. Honestly I don't know how I came up with such a genius idea, but then again I am the most intellectual man in FAWA.
So what did Aaron Enigma do? How did he get management to give him the title shot? Well it's simply really. At Wrestlecrapocalypse, I step into the Thunderdome, where the winner become Heavyweight champion. However that's not fully true...
The winner becomes Heavyweight champion....AND INTER-FORUM CHAMPION!!!
THAT'S RIGHT!!! I DID IT!!! I am putting my belt on the line in the SAME match that I am trying to win the Heavyweight title in!!!
So what does this mean for Thunderdome? Well it's simple really. The winner isn't just Heavyweight champion. The winner isn't just Inter-Forum champion. No no no, the winner of Thunderdome will walk out as FAWA's FIRST EVER UNDISPUTED CHAMPION!!!*The crowd goes nuts hearing the news!* JK: DID I JUST HEAR THAT RIGHT? FAWA'S FIRST UNDISPUTED CHAMPION?!?!?!TH: THIS IS UNPRECEDENTED!!! THE WINNER NOT ONLY BECOMES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION...BUT INTER-FORUM CHAMPION TOO!!!Aaron: Am I crazy? Yes I am. But I'm a fighting champion. I told everyone that I will find anyone, anywhere at anytime. I will put my title on the line if it means that I get the chance to become FAWA's FIRST UNDISPUTED CHAMPION!!!
So now the pieces are set. The game is afoot. The countdown to Thunderdome has begun. One thing will always remain true though. Aaron Enigma is the greatest Inter-Forum champion ever, and I am soon to become Undisputed Champion. Michaels, Brawler, Antihero, I hope you three get ready for war, because you'll have to kill me if you think I'll let anybody take this title from me. I WILL walk out of Thunderdome with both titles. I'm sacrificing too much to give it all away.
Prepare for war, otherwise you'll be the casualties on my way back to the top of the mountain. It's not rocket science, its UNDISPUTEDLY ELEMENTARY!!!*Aaron drops the mic and walks out of the ring as the crowd is going crazy.* JK: THIS IS THE LOUDEST I'VE EVER HEARD THE CROWD!!!TH: The stakes have never been higher inside Thunderdome!!!JK: Can Aaron back up his words with action? Or will one of the other entrants take his title from him?TH: This has the makings of the greatest match in history!!!

First, I realize I made a mistake: Michael Hayden won that Four Corners match, not Malevolence. So...
Four Corners Elimination Match Malevolence versus Connor Mackenzie versus Jack Cain versus the Super Warrior
Television Title Match Michael Hayden versus Seth Drakin versus Bull Ant
JoNo will get a match if he writes me a Niteraw Promo.

Ah hell; Connor took the trouble to write it... [shadow=yellow,left,300]HEATZ![/shadow] TH: And welcome back to FAWA Niteraw folks. Quite a night we have had thus far. A number of stunning accusations and fallout from NoTWZ. JK: I'll say, and as it is we've got the main event for our next pay-per-view seemingly already decided!TH: Incredibly true! And as luck would have it, our main event for the evening will have one of those participants in it. Or rather, the man being challenged. Take it away Michael Muffer!MM: Ladies and gentlemen the following contest is an exhibition match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first...MM: Hailing from The Ant Hill and weiging 328 lbs. The NEW FAWA Television Champion! Bull Ant!TH: And quite the ovation here for the new TV Champion. An intense match to say the least between he and Coventry.JK: Nuts sounds a bit better. He lit a casket. On. Fire.*As the music plays Bull moves onto the entry ramp, his feet stomping hard as he eyes the ring then roars and holds the TV title belt high above his head. The crowd joining in roar before he charges down the ramp and slides in under the bottom rope. Getting up he moves to the center of the ring and holds the title up with both hands before handing it to the time keeper.* MM: And his opponent...MM: And his opponent...he is the present, reigning FAWA Heavyweight Champion. Hailing from Los Angeles, California and weiging 240 lbs. Jonathan Michaels!JK: I have to say, I was surprised to see Jono make it out of that Chamber of Horror’s match still holding the belt. But he’s faced a lot of challengers now over two matches.TH: Indeed but as ever he’s risen to the occasion any time it has come up and no doubt the FAWA Galaxy appreciates it time and time again.*The 'tron starts to show clips of dangerous stunts as the music blares over the arena speakers. As a truly disasterous crash is shown Jonathan Michaels moves onto the entry ramp, the FAWA Heavyweight title draped over his shoulder. Taking a moment to hold up the belt he then makes his way to the ring, climbing the ring steps and moving in before climbing a turnbuckle to hold up the belt for all to see before handing it to the time keeper as well.* *As Jono looks at Bull Any from across the ring he rubs his hands together and anxiously moves from one foot to the other. Bull tugs on the top rope before returning the look Jono gives and gives a bit of a stomp as referee Will Alphonzo calls for the bell. Immediately Bull rushes at Jono who ducks out of the way, showing excellent quickness as he turns to see Bull stop himself and turn.* TH: The FAWA champ showing a surprising amount of agility here at the start of this match.JK: It’s not hard to be agile when you have something the size of a fridge coming at you like a train.*As Bull makes another pass, Jono moves, this time rolling out of the way. Bull anticipates another though as he stops short and turns a bit quicker then the prior time to meet his opponent but is stopped short as a swift kick is sent to Bull's thigh. A sharp snap is heard as Jono pauses before letting Bull have another which causes him to pause and shake the leg out. Jono tries to remain light on his feet as he goes for another kick but Bull reaches down and swats the leg away, causing Jono to momentarily lose a bit of balance. With the chance in hand, Bull rushes Jono, grabbing hold of his mid-section and ramming him into the nearest corner. Jono huffs out from the impact as Bull holds on but moves back before giving a second shoulder block into Jono's mid-section.* JK: Ouch! Bull’s certainly getting Jono acquainted with that turnbuckle.TH: The TV champ certainly not holding anything back in the early goings it would seem.*Jono slumps a bit as Bull moves to pull himself back. Eyeing Jono, Bull raises an arm and throws a headchop for Jono but connects with turnbuckle as Jono spins out of the way and out of Bull's reach as he collects himself a bit. As Bull turns, Jono rushes him. At the last moment, Jono baseball slides at Bull's leg, taking it out from under him as he lurches forward and hits the mat. Jono moves to quickly capitalize, reaching for Bull's ankle but the big man quickly turns over and pulls his legs back before pressing forward to send Jono towards the ropes. Rebounding off, Jono is met with Bull hoisting him up and hitting an Arn-Anderson spinebuster. Jono's back arches from the impact, his face wincing in pain as Bull moves towards the Heavyweight Champion.* TH: Michaels appeared to be looking to try and lock in The Key Grip but Bull Ant had other ideas.JK: Yeah, like flattening Jono like a pancake.*Bending down, Bull starts to pick Jono up by his head and gets him up to his feet before picking him up. Hoisting him over his shoulder, Bull looks about the ring before moving to hit an over the shoulder powerslam. As he gets steam though, Jono wiggles out of his grip and drops in behind him. As Bull skids to a stop he is hit with a chop block which sends him to a knee as Jono moves in the direction of the nearest turnbuckle.* JK: Oh no you...since when does this ever work...TH: The Heavyweight champ looking to go high risk here much to King’s dismay!*Getting to the top rope, the ref warns Jono as he has his back turned to the center of the ring. With a jump, Jono launches himself up in a moonsault, landing hard onto Bull and goes for the pin.* 1! 2! Kickout! TH: Moonsault! But still not enough to put the behemouth TV Champion down.JK: I’m not sure what would take a guy like Bull Ant down honestly.*Bull pushes Jono off of his with a large amount of force, causing Jono to nearly get back to his feet as Bull stirs and starts up to his own feet. With the momentum, Jono wheels back and prepares for a clothesline. Hitting it, Bull stumbles backwards, arms flailing a bit as Jono looks on, then runs for the ropes. Rebounding off, Jono hits another clothesline which staggers Bull more than the previous one but still he doesn’t fall.* JK: Like I was saying...Jono’s got to think of something else here.TH: The champ still undaunted King, just look!*A determined look comes onto Jono’s face as he gets a head of steam and runs for the furthest set of ropes. Bouncing off, Jono’s arm is out in preparation but as he nears Bull’s arm reaches out, stopping Jono in his tracks as the big man takes hold of his throat.* TH: And maybe third time not a charm here as Bull appears to have been waiting for him!*Struggling against Bull’s grip, Jono’s eyes are wide as Bull moves to the center of the ring and starts to lift him up. As he does, Jono holds on, sending a shot towards Bull’s head, then another to stun him before Jono manages to snake an arm around his head, pulling back to hit a DDT, but feeling a bit of impact from the improvised maneuver. Bull’s body lays motionless for a moment as Jono’s body spasms then starts to stir as he rolls to his side, a hand moving to rub his neck lightly as he gets onto his stomach and starts to push himself up as the ref has started a 10 count.* TH: Both men are down and slow. What an impressive counter but it seems to have taken its toll on both men!*Reaching 5, Bull Ant starts moving, his body lurching a bit as he moves a hand to hold his head momentarily before starting to get up. Jono has managed to get back to his feet as he moves to send a hard right the connects with Bull’s head as he is on a knee. Sending another punch at Bull he manages to get an arm up to block it, retaliating with a tomahawk chop that staggers Jono back.* TH: And Bull Ant now back on the offensive!JK: Don’t look now Gorilla but I think the Bull is seeing a bit of red!*Bull Ant gets up, sizing Jono up as he holds his head from the chop and starts running at him. As Bull looks to connect with a spear, Jono moves aside, perhaps like a bull fighter as Bull passes but manages to just stop himself by putting his arms up and catching the ropes before slamming himself into the ring post.* JK: Ole!*Starting to turn and straighten, Bull is caught unaware as Jono sends out a Super Kick that connects, rocking Bull’s head back as he falls back to the mat. Jono quickly moves, hooking the legs and keeping Bull from the ropes as Will Alphonzo makes the count.* TH: Fade to Black! Jono with a devastating Fade to Black!JK: He nearly took his head off with that one!1! 2! 3! MM: Ladies and gentlemen here is your winner, the FAWA Heavyweight Champion! Jonathan Michaels!

No need; this next one seeks to rectify while moving on.
New rule of thumb from now on for writers: Niteraw is 1 hour long so write accordingly. I plan to try writing Niteraw matches in the short, 5 min or less style of the Attitude era. Obviously we all may have different ideas of what that looks like, but I think we can all ball park it and will be similarly paced with time.
It will take adjusting, Niteraw will probably feel a little different, but I hope in the long run it will make match writing much easier for everyone. It should also make supercard matches look even more special when we do indulge in longer matches.
I'll set an example by writing a ~5min 4 Corners Elimination match. Should be... Interesting.

I intentionally decided to abort most of that Niteraw because of delays. That said, mind taking this week's TV Title match? You should get the result tomorrow. And remember: Niteraw is one hour long now. Matches are roughly 5 minutes. In your case, maybe try to make the TV Title match feel like it's 10.
Hopefully this next Niteraw will be the beginning of us getting back on the right track.

I plan to count the results soon. In the meantime, I have the unique opportunity to share something that inspires my writing and with context. You see, over in Off Topic, I am a member of the FAN Movie Club, and this week's featured movie is none other than Drunken Master, Jackie Chan's breakout movie. If I had to recommend anything for match-writing inspiration, it would be martial arts movies, especially those of Jackie Chan and Yuen Wo Ping. Jackie Chan, especially in his prime, serves as a great example of how to contrast a babyface with a heel. Yuen Wo Ping, on the other hand, has such exquisite fight choreography. Every move in a fight sequence he choreographs leads into the next and the sequence is a progression, leading to a greater whole than the sum of its parts. If you find trouble transitioning from hold A to reversal B and so on, watch martial arts movies choreographed by Yuen Wo Ping. It should give you a gradual understanding of wrestling match flow from a different source than you're used to.
